Recently visiting this eccentric but fascinating place - very Hogwarts, very "hoarder-ish"!! Enjoyable ramble through this historic pile, after enjoying some delicious soup and bread in the tearooms on site
What a change to normal, boring Castles and stately homes. The eclectic mix of items on display was just fascinating and the staff/guides were so interesting to talk to.
The cafe was great value with super tasty homemade soup. Other meals looked excellent too.
Do not go to the castle expecting to see a conventional stately home. That it’s not, it’s much more interesting.

Absolutely fabulous. Very imformative. Strange things happened on the tour like room temp plumeting.people having clothes pulled. Pictures taken that didnt turn out altgough we checked on them on the night. Definatly recommend and will be going again.
