Nice beer, real fire, no tv, decent jukebox. What more can one ask for! Very quiet when we visited but it was a Monday evening in February after all.

It has been too long since I last called into this small pub in Alnwick. It's intimate rather than uncomfortably small, quirkily decorated with medieval style carvings and a tree, has a good selection of local real ales, a cracking jukebox and the staff are...More

This is that rare thing these days, a pub without pretensions to be anything else. It’s quite small but comfortable and friendly and the sort of place where you wouldn’t be uncomfortable on your own.
