Visited this place on a rainy afternoon for the Sausage and Cider event. It was poorly attended (awful weather) but the atmosphere was still warm and friendly - buzzing in fact. There weren't many stalls open but we were there so had to try a...More
If you love trains, or architecture or both you will love this little station with friendly volunteers and lots to see, the station has lots of trains being restored and lots of original architectural features

It depends whether you think my review was unfavourable, I've lived here most all of my life and can see the station from my bedroom window, and I've been there on many occasions, but this is a national site and I was pointing out that this is OK to visit if you are local, but not something to travel for expecting to spend day looking around like for instance the Natural History Museum would be, if you saw "Railway museum" and drove here for an hour or so, I think you'd be very disappointed unless you caught it on a steam up day. We like it but we live five minutes away.
