We had a Monday off work and wanted something a bit left field. National Trust property that is an eternal new build project, unfinished because of a backstory more intriguing than you can imagine. It's in the middle of nowhere juxtaposed between Corby and the delights of Rural Northants. We had a surreal afternoon here. Open your mind, visit and... More

This ruin is of historical importance, for the Northamptonshire area, it's a good example of an unfinished project by the Tresham family. It's an unfinished summer house on a grand scale.

Newly joined to the Trust allowed us to head out to this national trust property today and it was so brumously beautiful. We arrived when it was foggy and it had a certain eeriness to it. However, then it cleared up slightly and it was lovely. It's just what I needed today. And then we headed out to a national... More

Nice to visit on a fine day as the site is beautiful. Apart from the Tresham folly, you can explore the orchards, lakes and surrounding countryside. Tea room is nice but limited menu. Food is good though and freshly prepared.

The place is amazing with big open spaces for kids to run and play, great for a family picnic were kids can run and play, the building and its stone masonry is beautiful and also, to think it was carved into stone a century ago, no power tools.

If it wasn't signposted you would never know it was there. What space and beauty. If you needed a tranquil haven, you will find it here. Equally so, it can be all things to all people.I'm so grateful it is on my doorstep too. Maddie

As you walk from the car park to the area you are met by the wonderful sight of the unfinished manor, next to it is a cottage which has a small cafe inside and log lit fire in both rooms. Don't know exactly what they offer in the way of food but we was in there at the end so very... More

I used to come here as a child and loved it for running around with friends. Now it's a beautiful place to go with family of all ages. There is plenty of ground for walking around even if you choose to not enter where the building is. We take our dogs up here for walks but do not enter the... More

I was lucky enough to visit Lyveden New Bield on a clear sunny day. It's great for photographers, walkers and history lovers. The walk from Fermyn Woods is well worth the effort.

We reached the site from the rear whilst doing a walk in the area. Mid-week November and the place was closed (nobody to take money). We read the information board in the car park, then walked around the outside of the house, peering through the empty windows. Also climbed the mounds, viewed the labyrinth etc. No tea shop open, and... More
