I'm a student of sorts of rope and net making... seriously. Finding the ropemakers in Hawes was a surprise. We found a mostly automated and modernized production of synthetic material accompanied by signage. Interesting but not overly so.

The Ropemakers is a fascinating place to see the rope being made.To see the different type of rope,it's uses and them being made on the bobbins is interesting. However it would have been good to see more written information on the history of rope making.
