One of Lancashire's most historic halls set in the beautiful park of the same name. The history of the Hall itself is full of intrigue, with stories of plotting and religious turmoil. It dates back to Elizabethan times with changes and additions over the centuries, all helping make a visit to the Hall a fascinating and enjoyable experience. This grade 1 listed building is the jewel in Chorley's crown, with stunning plaster work and architectural features. As the town's museum and art gallery it is also home to items of local historical interest. William Shakespeare and Oliver Cromwell are some of the famous guests to stay at the hall.

A lovely park and a great building to visit. The picnic in the park was affected by the weather and the stalls were limited. There was a stage with some "okayish" singing but with some other good entertainment for younger children

My wife and I have visited your hall a number of times over the years and always find it interesting. Recent work has improved the experience. Lots of local history and well presented. Well worth a visit.

Interesting building to look round and children have chance to dress up. Good restaurant and cafe. Park has children's play area and a pets corner. On a nice day there is plenty of areas to picnic.

Well kept by Chorley Council. Very popular with families with children as there are good play areas for all ages and a small-animal enclosure. Great for walking dogs in the shaded woods in the hot weather as there is a stream for them to play...More

Sorry the answer is late but yes dogs were in the grounds but kept on leads due to the children's and pets areas. Didn't notice any in the Hall.
