When I came to Tonbridge castle the heavens opened up and it was a very wet day but I think I enjoyed my trip more as I got to walk around the castle and in the gatehouse without anybody else around. It was a great few hours to just look and enjoy the history and displays. Tonbridge castle is very attractive. Very well looked after from looking outside. The grounds are lovely and clean and tidy. Haven't actually been inside, but walking around is beautiful and quiet considering how close to the high street it is

Good fun afternoon spent here - the audio guide is fascinating to listen to - gives a good mixture of history, interaction, life-like accounts of eyewitness reports, and technical explanations of how the castle was built. There were some good interactive bits inside the castle that gave us some scares and some laughs - well done! And the walk around... More

Nice looking castle and the highlight of Tonbridge really which is a pretty dull and run down place. I can say that because I lived here for a long time, so qualified to have this opinion. Shame it is not a bigger property so they could make more of a feature out of it. Interesting history though. Worth a pass... More

Tonbridge's very old castle is filled with wax figures almost lifelike that help visitors picture life in the middle ages. The first time I went, my then very young children (2 and 4) were a little bit scared though as the place is quite dim and the wax figures are very convincing. We went back for another visit this week... More

The castle offers informative tours, but even wandering around the grounds on one's own proves interesting. It is set in a beautiful, relaxing park and is within easy walking distance of "downtown" Tonbridge and its train station. For amateur photographers, it provides an interesting subject (and one that is easy to take atmospheric shots of at sunset).

I am a castle fanatic & I love it here, it's not much of a castle to be fair, but the turrets are symmetrical & it is free to visit, you can walk up to the keep & see the river & the town

It's a nice place for an evening out. Nice view from the top and a good way to spend some time out. Interesting building not huge but we'll maintained. Go on and see it for yourself!

What a great place to visit in the summer. Free jazz every Sunday and such a peaceful place to visit.

Not a huge castle but very interesting if you use the audio which is included in the entrance fee it takes about an hour then about another twenty minutes outside which is also interesting. You can climb to the top and get fantastic views of the area although it is a bit dark on some of the stairwells Tunbridge has... More
