My wife and I attended this place earlier this week for the Shalamar concert. Having read a few of the other TripAdvisor reviews, I was concerned it might be a bit of a tip, but this wasn't what we found. It is situated right on the seafront with only a road level entrance to be seen (you walk down a... More

Easy accessible. Friendly staff. Decor dated but gives the theatre character. Wheelchair accessible. Good value for money.

This review is purely about the venue - show we saw was VERY entertaining. On arrival we had to plough our way through a sea of people congregated around the entrance with their cigarettes. Inside it was very crowded with what appears to be only one entrance into the main theatre. Seats were all on one level but ours were... More

Went to see Professor Brian Cox and the place seemed to be sold out. Assuming it isn't structurally wrecked under the surface, just a bit of a fluff up of this venue would make such a difference and turn it from tired (exhausted might be mire accurate) into fashionably characterful. Paul is mentioned in other posts. He's everywhere, organising, troubleshooting... More

We went to see Level 42 so being an 80's blast from the past the average age of punters was probably 40-50+. I'll come on to the relevance of that later. We parked at the back of the winter gardens in order to avoid a long walk or so we thought, as I was nursing an injured foot. No such... More

I struggled to give this a 2 star review to be honest. The concert we went to see was great so this review is purely about the venue. Welcome: one older man barking at people to 'go that way' rather than greeting people as they arrived. Queue: we were sent outside (on a damp night) to queue round the side... More

Went to the Winter Garden for a meeting, very helpful staff. Nice old building, but very clean and presentable. Lots of stairs, but you can enter down the ramp for wheelchair bound visitors. Lots of shows were being advertised, and would be suitable for families and children if the show was for their age group.

If you like amateur or pro/am shows then this is fine for you, there aren't any particularly good seats in the house, the technical equipment is old and the staff are even older. It's alright for the run of the mill touring comedy shows, but to be fair there are some much better venues near by.

On Saturday 23 July 2015 I took my special needs (Autistic) son to the technology event at the WINTER GARDENS in Margate. I needed assistance and Paul (MANAGER) himself came to my rescue. Not only is he friendly and approachable but in my view the perfect ambassador for the WINTER GARDENS. The senior management at Paul's company should be very... More
