....there can often be a very strong eggy/sulphurous smell coming off the water so it's best to sit upwind if you can! Otherwise it is a great stretch of clean, sandy beach. I particularly liked the regular reminders to keep it clean/take rubbish with you...More

There are a number of opportunities for tourist to take a seat and admire the view! I recommend getting some fish and chips and eating it whilst watching the seaview.

Whilst the beach has nice soft sand, there is also a lot of smelly seaweed the length of the beach. This is not cleaned up daily, as often happens at other resorts.

The beach itself is clean with lifeguards patrolling a safe area for swimming. There is also an area enclosed for children to play in which is safe. It is such a shame that the other areas of Margate are not so great.

Margate beach is beautiful, it goes on for miles. Safe play for the children. The council have done a great job in tidying and keeping it then. The public toilets however could be better. :)

Visited. Found a lovely clean beach and a great art gallery. However the big let down is Thanet Council. They charge extortion for parking and that ruins the trip and stops me spending my money elsewhere in the town. The old tower block looks awful...More

yes you can, Google national express and put your postcode in of where you want to be picked up and you can see the trips they offer from there.
