Whether as a gift for a friend or relative or as an introduction to flying, the first step to take is to arrange a trial flying lesson. This involves a thorough briefing by the instructor followed by the flight, during which you will be given as much time at the controls as possible. The instructor will carry out the take-off and will then demonstrate the effects of controls on the aircraft, involving turning as well as climbing and descending. Following this you will be given control of the aircraft and will be flying until the end of the allocated time when the instructor will land the plane. If you decide to proceed with your private pilots licence this time will count towards your required flying hours.

Brilliant day out to see ww2 flying, displays, aviation related shopping. Great fun. If you can get a flying experience. Range from a flight in a biplane to escorting a spitfire in a dehavilland Devon over Kent. Amazing.

Had lunch here whilst waiting to sky dive, I really wished I hadn’t, a better option would have been to bring some food with me or eat the roadkill on the way in... coffee was just as bad too

Came here for my tandem sky dive, friendly staff and good location. Fully loved the jump. It got cancelled twice previously secondary to weather and we managed to get it reschedule to a beautiful summer day in June. The cafe is expensive, you can bring...More

Even on a dull week day there is always something to enjoy at this historic grass airstrip. Entry is free and the place is usually buzzing with light aircraft and parachutists. At the weekend on a fine day one can stay all day to see...More
