Happened to find it while wandering down the lovely road full of ancient properties and was warmly welcomed. Small but full of information about the history of the town, including the story of gunpowder manufacture, and the inherent risks.

This is much bigger than it looks from the outside, full of interesting displays and information , war time, school, old mangle in kitchen display, old petrol pumps, shop fronts ,barbers display , pottery and a telephone system and lots lots more , local history...More

Cannot rate this museum highly enough! Firstly I didn't realise how big it is, with so much to see and do. Secondly an amazing lady, called Jean, gave us a tour and explained as much as she could about anything and everything. It was lovely...More
