Always had been a very welcoming and nice place to stop when on a bike ride, for a coffee, soft drink. Recently I stopped on an extremely hot day and we were told that the business focus was now on the vineyard and selling wine and cider; that be selling coffees going forward had stopped (fair enough).
Each member of my cycling group was charged corkage on bottles of soft drinks that they had bought on the premises. We had to drink them from the bottle (as no disposable cups were offered) nor paper straw. Shockingly I realised as I cycled away that I had been charged 15% corkage on top of the soft drinks that I had bought! Corkage is meant to be charged on bottles of wine etc purchased elsewhere and consumed on the premises. This is the first time I've ever been charged corkage on soft drinks bought in an establishment. Oh well, our group won't be visiting again.

We visited Biddenden for my Mum’s birthday and took the private tour with Sharon. Our experience was perhaps lessened by the weather - drizzle and more - but it was limited to a walk around the vineyards. Whilst Sharon was a very pleasant guide she was clearly not a viticulturist and had limited knowledge about wine to share. We were disappointed that there was no more information about the cider or other products. The tasting experience involved our guide dropping some samples at the table with no more explanation than on the printed sheet. I would advise taking the self guided tour rather than spending £180 to go privately.

After a lovely time doing the self guided tour with friends and our kids and enjoying some tasting, the experience was ruined by the attitude and manners of the owners. Sadly they spoke to us without any regards for us as people and were outright rude to us from the outset of speaking to us. I would not recommend going here if you have children, because although they were allowed to be paid for to do the tour and the tasting (juice for them), the impression that was given through the impolite words spoken by the owners is that they should be 'seen and not heard'. It's a shame but they obviously don't care about customer service.

For £10 you can do a self guide walk around the vineyard complete with an informative guide book telling you all about the different vines. The short walk takes about 20 mins - or you can do a longer one - then you get to select 3 wines to taste [included in the price]. And if you then decide to buy £20 of wine you get a £5 discount. It is just a nice relaxed place to learn & enjoy a bit more about wine.

What should have been a lovely afternoon was ruined by the worst customer service I've ever encountered.
We had a lovely walk around the vines in the afternoon sun, the problems started during the tastings.
We waited a very long time for our wines/juices (apparently they had run out of glasses but no-one warned us of this). Eventually the children got a bit bored of sitting down and waiting and started playing with some children from another table.
The owners, clearly from the Victorian era (children should be seen and not heard), were not happy about this. Which to be fair as it's their establishment they are well within their rights to want a quiet atmosphere. However there is no signage advising that children should stay at their table nor were we advised of this when we purchased our tickets.
Now, any normal 21st century manager would come over and have a polite word with us. Instead we were approached separately by two different managers/owners who talked to us in the most rude an obnoxious way I've ever encountered from a customer service perspective. My wife was accused of being an irresponsible parent and the male manager hung out an upstairs window and yelled at us.
I had been tempted to buy some of their wine but needless to say I left empty handed.

Old British vineyard, formerly apple orchards. £15 buys a self guided walk around part of the vineyard and 6 tasters. Some very nice wines, not just sparkling, but also still some ciders. I particularly liked the oak barrelled one - very dfferent.
Book ahead to be sure, but plenty of people just dropped in. Shop of course, some great value options.

A lovely trip to this vineyard. We took the self guided tour - a lovely walk through the vineyards with information provided by a well written guide book - and then enjoyed the tasting. It was very busy and there were some very impatient customers. The staff were lovely and kept apologising for the minor delays caused by the sheer volume of people they were looking after. We enjoyed our wine selection and they looked after one member of the party who does not like wine, cider or apple juice vey well. They also went the extra mile to be helpful when we came to make our purchase too. A lovely experience.

Local resident and long standing customer now ex. Spent £57 in shop and decided it would be nice to walk the vineyard which I haven’t done for a while. Told to do so on a self guided tour was £10 each with a free wine tasting after which I didn’t want as I regularly purchase their wines and know what they taste like and I was driving. This is no encouragement to local residents and I shall now support one of the local farm shops and alternative vineyards

We opted to do the self guided tour that took around 35 minutes; a very pleasant wander round the vineyard. The fee (£10 pp) includes wine tasting at the end (you choose 3 wines from quite a long list of the wines they produce, or even their apple juices) plus £5 off a £20 spend on their products. So, a pretty good deal and also very enjoyable.

When I lived in S.England, I made frequent trips to Biddenden and other vineyards.
I always ended up buying a case or two of their wine and cider.
Now I've retired to Scotland, I'm delighted to find that they offer a top class mail order service, with reasonable delivery charges.
If you find a Biddenden wine, cider or juice that you really like, then you can enjoy it no matter where you live

Is there a restaurant or cafe on site? What sort of thing do they sell?

Would we be ok to take young children (2.5 to 4.5 years old) for a walk round the vines and to the shop?
Written 27 February 2017
They'd love it. Lots of space to run around, and they can see the wine making equipment all around the shop. Nice places to sit inside and outside, plenty of treats in the shop suitable for children.
