On a very windy September day, we went to see The Needles. Last time I saw them was forty odd years ago. Ok, but not that interesting for me... My husband enjoyed going down the metal stairway, through a tunnel to see them more clearly....More

This place is a bit of a "build it and they will come" type of place. They've obviously spent a bit of money creating a fake high street at the top of the cliff, full of tat shops and kids attractions. They run a ticket...More

Took the cable car ride which gave some great views then spent a couple of hours playing crazy golf, having a coffee and looking round the shops. Had an enjoyable day.

The needles are a rock formation on the west side of the Isle. To reach them is a 30 minute walk from the car park. The views are spectacular. There are 2 batteries and a rocket site museum which add further interest. The rocket site...More

Long walk but it is worth it! Amazing scenery and very educational at the battery. The multicoloured cliffs were pretty. Could have more on offer and would benefit from a buggy transfer to and from. Good activities onsite for kids. 4D cinema experience was rubbish!...More

Alum Bay is very commercialised now and geared for the hot sunny days. Great for families with kids but no apparent 'quality' gifts or eating places. However the platform to view the Needles was a good place for photos.

The view itself was free, but very windy. Everything else at this location was chargeable so could easily add up to a very expensive hour in a family holiday.
