The gardens here are excellent and interesting whether you are a gardening dunce (like me) or an expert. Something interesting to see at all seasons. There is also a cafe that serves good wholesome fare. The cafe is not the most exciting of venues but...More

This is about the separately run Garden Centre, not the Arboretum. We went to the Christmas evening launch. It was well intentioned but lacked sufficient creatively to make the evening flow. There were very few visitors, we were served a miniscule amount of mulled wine...More

Thank you for your comments – as you correctly say, Hillier Garden Centre is run separately from the arboretum. Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is a charitable trust and is operated independently from the Garden Centre so we are unable to comment on this event but...More

I enjoyed a beautifully tranquil stroll amongst the trees and through the gardens and although many of the leaves are now on the ground, the trees and surrounding borders still hold plenty of interest and I particularly love the metal sculptures. A peaceful and serene...More

My family and I enjoyed a lovely romp around the beautiful grounds of Hillier's Arboretum. It had been many years since I last visited, and I marvelled at the work undertaken in the meantime on the landscaping, the setting, and the upgraded facilities. The children...More

We’re glad that you enjoyed the beautiful autumn colours during your latest visit and that the children enjoyed the play activities. We are sorry that you were disappointed with our trail though. The fee helps to subsidise costs and the many hours of work that...More

You would need to write directly to the gardens management and ask them. I suspect the reason is that, unfortunately, too many dog owners are not well behaved and would allow dogs to roam free with no attempt to clean up
