About
We opened our doors to the public 40 years ago (1981) and were one of the first-ever farm parks in the country. We are now open all year round, with a massive indoor play barn with different areas for different age ranges. There’s lots of outdoor play as well, including the Little Farmers Driving School. Throughout the day there are animal handling and feeding activities for children to get involved in. Meerkat Mansion is our latest addition making a Farm-Tastic day out! We are so proud that we have people visit us from all over the country, employ over 60 people, run a quality restaurant – welcoming thousands of families 7 days a week and have won several awards. We hope you have a wonderful day and a massive thank you from us for making it all possible!

We booked to see Santa for 6 of us. 4 adults, 2 children - one almost 2 year old and a 9 year old who is either a very good actor or still believes in Santa. The farm itself is good. There's an opportunity to buy animal feed which the children enjoyed. The play areas both inside and outside very good. My daughter (almost 2) absolutely loved the under 2s and under 5s sections - she's usually a slow burner and takes ages to get into these things but was straight in having the time of her life!

The trip to Santa, although slightly rushed (not necessarily a bad thing with a 1 year old!), was very magical. You start by seeing Mrs Christmas and decorating gingerbread men. My only issue with this was that each child was given a bag of skittles regardless of age, which is obviously entirely inappropriate for an almost 2. Thankfully she wasn't any wiser but I can imagine if you took these off of a slightly older child due to the choking hazard it would have been a meltdown in the making.

Then go see Santa. It was the most magical grotto I've ever visited in all my years'. It was stunning, and well Santa was most definitely the most realistic I've ever seen. As previously mentioned though, it felt a bit rushed. I appreciate with Covid it must be difficult because the numbers are reduced, but as the main event I would say I was slightly disappointed at the lack of time spent on each of the children, especially when information was provided prior to visiting and wasn't mentioned (my daughters brother and sister, for example).

After this, we were led to the reindeer food making through some fake snow which was lovely. My daughter absolutely LOVED this part. Unfortunately again it was slightly rushed, but she had the best time.

Whilst it was good that at the end they got to pick their own toys, it would've been a bit better for them to be pre-selected on booking and wrapped and handed to the children by santa.

Overall though a fantastic experience and would definitely come again!

Great value for money. Went with family and friends for our sons birthday. Arrived to find our 2 year olds name on the board at the entrance, wishing him a happy birthday, after his Grandma phoned ahead a few days earlier. The lady on the entrance addressed the birthday boy by name and said happy birthday which instantly brought a smile to his face. There was lots to see and do, the animal enclosures were all very well kept (animals clearly well looked after) and perfectly visible for toddlers. Staff super friendly and helpful. Not a single attraction was closed or 'broken'. Particular mention for the team in the kitchen/cafe - 5 hungry adults and a toddler all enjoyed the food, which was very reasonably priced. The indoor play barn (vast) and baby changing facilities were also immaculate. Time of stay was 5 hours but we could of stayed longer had it not been for a very tired toddler! Parking free as well. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.
Tip: Spend the £1.50 at reception and buy 1 or 2 feed cups - well worth the money for laughs and with exception of the meerkats you can use it all day long in every enclosure, careful the cheeky critters don't nick the cup though! 🤣

What a fantastic day out. My two daughters aged 10 and 9 thoroughly enjoyed it. Just so much to do with great indoor and outdoor play areas, getting close up with lots of different animals, and especially the pirate splash area. The food was great and the staff really friendly and helpful. i would recommend Finkley to anyone

We visited here with a young family, spent most of the day here. Reasonably priced and not too busy. Lots to do goat race, stroking the bunnies, go cart racing, large play park area and lots of animals to feed. You can buy feed from the shop. Lots of interaction with animals. There is a cafe and indoor soft play area. If you want ti bring a packed lunch then there are lots if picnic tables. They have lots of hand washing sites and sanitiser. Thoroughly enjoyable day out, even for adults.

A great place to take the kids.
There is a lot to do and experience from feeding the goats and llamas, stroking bunnies, and playing in plenty of playground areas.

Staff are super friendly.

This is a greet day out for children. There are zip wires, a driving school, tractors, indoor soft play, outdoor parks and so much more. The animal section is great with loads to pet and feed. There is lots of outdoor seating so you’re welcomed to bring your own Picnic and sit outside. I would highly recommend

We found Finkley Down Farm via Tripadvisor, we used the farm as a mid journey break with a 5yr old and 18month old. Lots to see and do for kids, the driving school for little farmers was a big hit with the 5yr old. Due to Covid restrictions the indoor area wasn't available, which we didn't mind missing out on (it looking amazing, when we saw it via a trip to the loos). Lots of friendly animals to interact with and tractors to sit on.
We were very very glad we swapped the motorway service station for Finkley 😊
