We went on a wet Feb day, they were welcoming and helpful. We had 11people in our party, with 4being small children. They let us have our picnic in their cafe as long as we bought some drinks. It was so relaxing. The gardens are delightful too.

I find Allen Gallery a great place to view the amazing array of ceramics right up to modern works by Lucie Rie. The art nouveau tiles as a must to look at. The gift shop has interesting and well priced gift ideas. You can sit out in the garden and have tea and cake. The visiting exhibitions and local artists... More

A very well run gallery worth a visit, very often there are evenings of talks, the Alton Brewery one very good, also the one on Alton, having lived here all my life still found out many interesting things. Also good to pop in for a tea/coffee and in the summer a lovely garden at the rear of the building lovely... More

A gorgeous gallery which display various mediums of work each month and quirky arty Bits you can buy. They also have a really lovely garden where they really do spend a lot of time maintaining it. You can also have a coffee ☕️ and piece of cake in the small seating area

This gallery/museum is situated just off Alton High Street & contains a large number of ceramics - tiles, pottery etc. It is arranged over two floor & there is also a separate temporary exhibition area on the ground floor where changing exhibits such as paintings & textiles are displayed. There is a peaceful garden at the back of the gallery... More

Came here to meet a friend for tea and sat out in their beautiful garden full of flowers and herbs . The volunteers were so friendly and the location is amazing . It's like A little oasis in the middle of Alton

As a museum, it's interesting if you like a cross section of ceramic history. As a gallery, it's small and the nature of the exhibition determines the value of the visit. But its best feature is the lovely, lovely garden at the rear with its sculptures, flowers, herbs. Visit that in the sunshine and your visit is well worth it.

It is great that it is a free attraction but really it's quite small & if you were coming to visit Alton for the day it wouldn't be first on my list of 'must go to places.' Unfortunately someone was having CPR outside so that also dampened the mood when it came to looking round for us

just across the road from the Curtis museum, a short walk along Church street on the left, has tea rooms, ever changing art displays, and many peices of historical interest, is a compliment to the Curtis museum, and worth visiting, with a pretty garden at the rear.
