Pre-booked the BBC media 'tour' and very much enjoyed it. Two very upbeat and humorous guides took us around a number of buildings and studios including BBC radio 6 and Blue Peter studio. Finished up at a 'mock up' studio where visitors can 'present' Breakfast and the Weather. Children loved tat bit. Found the whole thing very enjoyable and good... More

We recently attended the above tour with our 8 year old daughter. The tour was well organised and the two guides were fantastic, giving information in an interesting and humorous style. The tour lasted 90 minutes and all children were given the opportunity to participate in the various activities on offer. We booked onto the tour directly from the BBC... More

It was really interesting to go round the different buildings, see inside the studios, etc. We got to make a 10-minute radio play, or have a go at presenting the weather. Interesting to see how small the studios are, compared with how big they look on screen.

We were successful in obtaining tickets for the recording of a new show; The Boss. We were advised to turn up for ticket 'authentication' at 12.15. Recording was due to start at 1.15. The information advises not to turn up early. We duly reported at 12.05 to be told that the recording area was already full !! What is the... More

As a past BBC presenter I would be biased, I worked at the old building in Oxford Rd not at this super duper one although I am sometimes on the 'other side of the microphone at the new one' I still get a thrill going into this fab building.

A Question of Sport with Sue Barker, Phil Tuffnell and Matt Dawson = we were on the right handside this time and to me it still has that flair and spontinaity you would expect from this type of show. The off the cuff remarks, make it all the more interesting - if you get the chance to see it do... More

Went to see a live concert recorded at the BBC studios in Media City. The BBC invite interested persons to enter a ticket ballot, and, having been successful, joined nearly 300 others for a mid-afternoon Classical music concert, conducted by well known Proms personality, John Wilson. Getting there is easy with the trams stopping nearby, and there is a small... More

Well worth a visit. We were made very welcome and showed various parts of the BBC including radio and TV studios and given lots of good information about how it all works. It certainly lets you know how your licence fee is spent which must benefit all. Well done BBC!
