This romantic Cotswold garden is set around a lovely mill, which is probably Norman. Sited in its own steep-sided valley, the garden has hidden paths winding up from the mill-pool and stream at the bottom through the Rose Walk to the Cricket Lawn.

Terrible discribes our visit to this garden. I can only assume that RHS and Countryfile visited at a different month in a different year because this garden should not be open in September. The borders were scruffy and neglected only a few asters giving any colour. How they can say that the garden is 50% accessable to wheelchairs I can... More

This is a family home and garden and is designed with that in mind. It is on several levels, with lots of twists and turns, amusing points of interest. It is not weed perfect, but relaxed, and planned as a fun place. Maybe in parts it looks a little as if neglected but in a way it adds to the... More

Having spent our week looking at amazing gardens in the Cotswold like Hidcote, Snowshill, Bourton House we were so looking forward to finding another gem but sadly it was not this one. It was tired and overgrown. The fruit cages were covered in bindweed, as were the apple trees. As many have pointed out the cost in the honesty box... More

Very expensive with few facilities. The gardens are lovely but a decent eatery and toilets are needed

On arriving at Mill Dene I asked for the toilet to be told it was up by the swimming pool so up a series of overgrown rickety steps I found a louvered door with no lock on and no light it was extremely gloomy and loads of spiders not a good start it could be a beautiful garden. The drinks... More

Garden is very poor and needs a lot of work - not at all like any descriptions. The charge of £9pp is very high and with no change it cost us £20.00, as it did the people before us. The grotto and left hand bank have not been kept, look very unloved and forgotten about with plenty of weeds. All... More

Very disappointed....plenty of weeds and few flowers. Lovely setting and atmosphere around the house but certainly not worth £18 for 2.

An overgrown unloved garden can't believe they charge what they do (they charge £9 per adult and don't give any change so cost us £10 each!! Cricket stumps and bats rotten but no balls to play with anyway. Tree house rotting and out of bounds - and on top of that you have to pay for your diy tea. Unbelievably... More

We arrived on Wednesday last to find a sign saying closed - no explanation - but lots of cars parked around. We had driven for an hour to see this garden and so then drove on to lunch at Moreton in the Marsh. I telephoned the house to check if it was indeed closed and received a curt answer from... More

Unfortunately this garden was a dissapointment. It is situated in a lovely setting on different levels and has some nice plants. But we had difficulties getting around because it was overgrown at places. The pond didn't have the fish anymore and was very green. We don't mind the DIY coffee or tea, but for 9 pounds per person, we expected... More
