Lovely experience at a theatre for us unlike London theatres we found more leg room and comfortable seating, no pillars to spoil the view, it is not easy to read the seating number's but there is always someone to show you to your seat,

A really nice little theatre, build around 1910, before cars, on what was the main road leading into Southend-on-Sea. Inside, it still retains a lot of the Victorian charm, but with modern additions. There are plenty of big names, good plays, and shows, to see...More

As a local, I've been coming to the Palace theatre for over 30 years. Considering how relatively small the building is (in comparison to the other local Theatre, the Cliffs Pavilion for example) its amazing what they manage to fit in. There are actually two...More

A classic, old school style theatre, on the cute and small side but completely adequate to hold a good audience. Fantastic stage. Plus smaller suites for those lesser known or up and coming acts. Facilities sufficient, just. I say 'just' lightly based on theatre age,...More

The Case Of The Frightened Lady. This was yet another great production staged at the Palace Theatre. It had a strong cast who made the roles their own. Be ready to jump. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The beauty of this theatre is that the performances seems...More

Visited the Place Theatre recently to see Shawaddy Waddy. It was a great show. Normally only visit the theatre for plays as it is small and intimate. Only downside is the parking

Plays that were on in the West End come to the Palace on tour. Excellent standard with the original cast.

Hi Gail, I’d say row ‘A’ should be fine for a 6 year old. They would be nice a close in full view of the stage. It is a bit of a look up however. When we went we were in the front row with no complaints. I’m not sure or the... More

There is a carpark 500m further into southend on the left by the next set of lights. There is also a nice italian restaurant 'azzuros' a further 50m on past the lights on the right. Hope this helps.
