Not a huge museum but interesting and informative. Many exhibits on the subject of Roman and Saxon life in an around the area. There were also displays of old toys and of equipment made at the Ecko factory. I think the highlight for me was...More

The museum is situated very close to Southend Victoria station and is also near to the Beecroft gallery. There's much natural history from the local area particularly with regard to wading birds from the Thames Estuary. I enjoyed also the recreation of rooms from Victorian...More

It's adorably small inside, not as big as it looks on the outside but still enjoyable to walk around and learn, should you be in to that (Can't select date I visited, it was August 2015)

It is quite small but they put a lot of effort into the exhibitions they have. You can find out about local history and sea life. I would definitely recommend it!

This is a small local museum with a few set rooms, and a temporary exhibition space. The best thing is a small planetarium which gives shows at set times and which are very interesting for children. Pre-booking is recommended as there are limited spaces. There...More
