This place has paragliding options at reasonable rates. So do keep some time in hand with you when you visit it in case you love adventure. I still regret not being able to do it as our driver denied to wait for extra time for that as we were pretty late.
Other than that the place was ideal for a leisure walk...not too much to do. It will be good if you are travelling with family or elders....but for a group of friends you might be a little bored. Best would be grab your camera or phone and spend some time taking some cool pictures or reels. The place was pretty Instagram worthy and provided some breathtaking views of the valley down. It even had some seating arrangements amidst the Nature where you can relax for a while.
If you really want to experience paragliding then I would say you should not give this a miss. You can even take your elderly parents here to relax. But if you are a young couple or a group of friends you might get a little bored here.

Maybe this was my fourth visit to the Deolo hill, but this is one of the interesting spots during your visit around Kalimpong. The park at this place is full of flowers and also a dedicated zone for children is there to enjoy. Entry fee of 20 bucks is there for entering the park.
A few 100 meters of ascent has to be covered if anyone wants to go till the topmost view point, which gives a panoramic view of the teesta valley. Food options are minimal.
Maybe the most interesting thing one can enjoy here is Paragliding, which is organized by several agencies, having their shops on the way to the hill, maybe within 100 meters from the gate.

Delo Hill is the highest point in Kalimpong and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the entire hilly region. The town of Kalimpong, the surrounding villages, Teesta River and its valleys can be viewed from this point. We visited Delo Hill on a cloudy day and had a nice experience walking in the cloud. It is said that on a clear day, the snow-clad mountains are also visible from this hill. At the peak of this hill, there is a park built for recreational purposes which feature exotic flowers. The park is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals. Water reservoirs, which serve drinking water to the town are present atop. Overall it is the best tourist spot in Kalimpong.

Enjoyable experience while in Deolo Hill. We had a lovely view of the mountain peaks and also shopped in one of the shops selling wollen mufflers and fancy caps. The place has few sports activities as well - paragliding ( which we did not try with our children) and horse riding. Plenty of space available to roam around and enjoy the beauty of the hills and the woods. Recommended and must visit place in Kalimpong. It also has a hotel with lovely view, however we did not stay there as we were staying in Morgan House.

Needed to drive through Kalimping's main Bazar and then a narrow road.
A great place for families and young and not so young kids.
Could not appreciate sunset due to heavy cloud cover bit still a pleasant walk with multiple view points.
Worthwhile visit.
It could have been a most gorgeous location but for poor and unorganized parking, shabby and unhygienic stalls and littered roadside near the entrance.
Did not visit the restaurant within but did looked a bit run down from outside, another reason if corrected could make it an awesome location.

It’s a beautiful park in Deolo Hill near Kalimpong town of Darjeeling District. It has a tourist lodge maintained by Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council. The landscaping has been done beautifully & it’s well maintained. From the two view points one can get a clear view of Mount Kanchenjunga on a clear day.

Kalimpong sightseeing was in our itinerary for from Darjeeling to Gangtok. First destination you would find after taking right from Kursoeng is Lamahatta, a picturesque point with lots of pine, oak, deadar trees and peace flags welcoming travellers. After a photosession procced for Kalimpong. First destination would be Lovers Point, the confluence of River Rangit and Teesta. Next at Kalimpong you would find cactus Nursery, it would be worth , if it is april to june. Then move towards Graham's Home, Deolo Hill, Durpin dara monastery. We reached Gantok around 6pm , after leaving Darjeeling at 8am.
Tourist Bungalow at Deolo Hill , is worth at its exterrior but need to be more responsible for internal cleaning of the toilet and availablity of basic refreshments. Otherwise pony ride is available everywhere. Paragliding is another attraction.
Bakhu[sikkimese wear of the ladies] is rather cheap at kalimpong, than in any city of Sikkim.

Deolo Hill is the highest point of Kalimpong, located at the North East direction of the town. The Deolo hill top has men made park built for visitors which features exotic plants & flowers. It also houses a tourist Lodge. Early risers watch the spectacular view of Sunrise on Kanchenjunga snow flaked mountains.
Good view of Kalimpong town, the surrounding vallies, Teesta river.
There are 3 water reservoirs out of which 2 provide for the water requirement of Kalimpong.
If you are into adventure sports. You can do paragliding form many operators who are in abundance here.

The topmost hill top of Kalimpong with its beautiful and lustrous green arena with undulating pathways and panoromic view has made it a really outstanding place to visit during Kalimpong tour. The paragliding and air balls are the added attraction. The really well maintained gardens with various flowers and many unknown birds of different variants will really take your heart away... The hide and seek of the clouds and the cold wind will really give you an out of the world experience..

Delo resort is beautiful and on top of Delo hill. I never stayed there but whenever I visit Kalimpong I go for a long day trip. Amazing view points all over the ground and adventure sports make Delo so special.

How difficult is it walking from parking to upper park for a person having difficulty in walking. Kindly highlight distance steepness time required and can it be done on horse back.
Regards
Written 28 June 2018
It depends upon the degree of difficulty/ pain he or she have. from my point of view it would take 20-25min with few rest/halts (&with knee-cap but not with stick). Parking lot is not conventional. it is very crowdy place on steep narrow road and car r just trying to find a gap. So u must try to reach as much as close to the gate of park. after crossing the gate u gradually moving upward through road. Last position(probably 100mt+) to reach the top is difficult. There is no chance to get a horse with out reaching the top. its mainly for children amusement. if u reach the top, then must move for 10-15 steps more to reach the view-point on the right side corner of Swing. its refreshing...good luck

What are the other activities available in Delo Hills
How was the experience of Paragliding?
What are the other places of interest in Kalimpong & Delo?

In Deolo hills property itself, there are 2-3 view points from where you can watch the beautiful the Kanchenjunga mountains as well as the valley & the beautiful city of Kalimpomg.
The paragliding experience was magnificent for us & is surely should not be missed. The paragliders take us on a 360° ride from where you can see Kalimpong, Darjeeling & parts of Sikkim too. The entire ride takes about 12-15 minutes.
There are several other tourist spots in and around Kalimpong such as the very beautiful Hanuman Statue on a small hillock, the famous Durga temple in the city, a couple of Buddhist monasteries (Phodong & Tharpa Choling), the beautiful & Serene Mangal Dham, the unique cactus nursery, the colourful & beautiful pine nursery, the Teesta River Rafting, the kalimpong science center et al.

Generally people avoid N-E region in the rainy season, there is chances of land slide & road blockage. But Himalaya has it's own beauty in the rainy season. It's full of waterfalls and greenery everyw. If you're a fond of nature and adventures then I'll suggest to give a try. Kalingpong is amazing during rain.

Hey there,
We were in Kalimpong in mid May, the weather was wonderful then. However it rains a lot in Kalimpong, so August won't be the right time, your movement will be restricted and also the view of the mountains and the valleys, by the fog. Visit after the rains but before Durga Puja.

You can do paragliding at Deolo Hill. Cost will depend on the time you want to glide. They also can make a video of the entire duration using a GoPro camera. There are various groups available for paragliding. I don't remember the prices exactly.
