Visited in January. The new span of the bridge was not open yet. The older span has high traffic volume and is in need of repair but provides excellent view of the river, the town and the north bank.

A 1.4 km long bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra river. A attraction of Assam. It is said that Bir Silarai jumped over the brahmaputra here with his horse. A amazing view can be seen from here of both North and South Guwahati.

This is not a sight seeing place. Like any other bridge it has nothing extraordinary. Better view it from guwahati city near brahmputra bank instead of wasting time on traffic and reaching there. Trust me I know.

You will cross the bridge while travelling to the lower northern part of the state like barpeta,Nalbari and even Tezpur if you choose to. But you cannot stop on the bridge and see the the view. the security personals won't allow you to. Rather, you can visit the Pandu Port ,Have a fantastic view of the bridge and the river.
