I'm a Japanese living in Delhi. Sorry, I visited here not for worshipping, but looked for a nice view. It was not very easy, but I found a nice view looking down the city of Guwahati that you cannot find anywhere else. You can reach here by car to enjoy a unique scenery.

Bhuvaneswari Temple is located on Nilachal Hill, at a little higher point than the famous Kamakhya Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneswari and one could walk to this temple after finishing the darshan at Kamakhya temple. This temple is a little less crowded than the Kamakhya temple. Not every devotee visiting the Kamakhya temple show up here. After... More

Very old template in the middle of Brahmaputra River , most enjoyable part is the boat ride of 10 mins to reach the Island. even if you are not a devotee you will enjoy the boat rive on the massive river .

There is nothing special about the temple. But the view of the river and some parts of the city from the top of the hill is amazing.

I liked the green surroundings, pure fresh air, amazing view of Brahmputra, and absolute stillness of place. Unlike any other temple it seemed like a temple of nature with no deity puja or queues of waiting people. One can sit for an hour to soak in lap of nature at this top of hill. Must visit!
