We hiked the entire Black River Trail today from Ford Road to 611. It was about 7 miles. What a nice walk. It was all asphalt except for minor deviations for the waterfalls, the cottonwood and the offshoots to the river. The bridges were in...More

How lucky we are to have such a great park system. Especially Black River Reservation. It energizes you to walk among the trees, especially this time of year with the colors. I would rather walk Black River Reservation than a treadmill! It's grate to see...More

The Black River Reservation has a great blacktop path for walking or biking. It is over 6 miles long, crossing the Black River with multiple bridges as it winds through the valley. It is a nice smooth path for easy walking with nice scenery. There...More

Tons of public access points to fish the river. Catfish and smallmouth all year long. Steelhead trout from late fall through early spring.

This is one of good ones that are in the Lorain County Metro Parks collection. There is ample parking and the trails are well-maintained. There are some entry-points to the banks of the Black River itself. All-round, it's a nice metro park.

Drove through the reservation this morning, trees are starting to get beautiful colors but still a lot of green.

The all-purpose trail is very well-maintained and there are a few challenging hills to climb from one end to the next, whether walking, jogging or biking. I refer to this as my "quick-hitter", as it is easily accessible and takes less than an hour to...More

The Lorain Metro Parks do it right. This is a wonderful area for it's color in the fall. The park and it's trails are natural but well maintained. It is you and nature. The trails are good for walking or riding and go for miles...More

This is a very nicely maintained park with an excellent paved bike/jogging trail. You will find yourself in the sun about 70% of the time so plan on water and sunblock. The waterfall, cliffs and the river itself are all fairly scenic but access is...More
