We spent a very great afternoon and evening at this beautiful venue. The special exhibit on a temple in Cambodia was spectacular. We then spent two happy hours going through their modern show. We did it in reverse order and were impressed with the depth...More

Don't miss this if you are traveling to Cleveland. The collections are stellar and all the docents are friendly and helpful. There were no major collections in addition to what the standards are so our trip to the museum was completely free with the exception...More

It's practically self-evident why the CMA is generally regarded as one of the country's best art museums and arguably Ohio's greatest cultural treasure. Large and impressive museums with extraordinary collections like this need to be taken in over a stretch of days (granted, ideally) not...More

Docents stop you for everything. Don't carry a child. Don't place your purse on your shoulder. Don't even go near an exhibit when you are obviously obeying standard art museum distances. If this museum was not free it would not get that many visitors.

Here you can find some impressive works housed in a beautifully preserved neoclassic building of white Georgian marble. Has an excellent collection of ancient Egypt, masterpieces from Europe, Asia and Africa.

Free to get in. Fee for special exhibits. Get a map as you come in so you know how to get to each area and what each area has in it. Not a lot of places to sit at meal time. Go all year around...More

I agree with the two other responses. 2 hours minimum, but you could spend all day if you get food or just want to sit in the magnificent atrium and watch the world go by. Also it depends on how much you read descriptions... More

We almost always park on Martin Luther King, down the hill from CMA. Along MLK parking is free. This is not a good choice if snowy or rainy, but beautiful because you can walk by or look back at the Wade lagoon.
