Chook's Little Winery Tours offer you a unique wine experience, to discover some of the little known boutique wineries in McLaren Vale. Sample wine straight from the barrets, stroll through the vineyards and chat with the owners and winemakers themselves.Tours are available for groups or individuals and can be adapted to suit your taste. A standard full day tour will visit up to six cellar door wineries and include pick-up and drop-off in Adelaide city or Glenelg. Optional extras or alternative stops include chocolate, glass and cheese manufacturers, beer brewery and olive crushing (May-June only).Prices vary depending on the size of your group and the length of the tour. All prices include a cheese platter and light lunch prepared with seasonal local produce.Chook's Little Winery Tours is a small family company and your host will be Chook, a local McLaren Vale personality and wine lover.

Chook was an absolutely amazing tour guide. We’ve done dozens of wine tours and this was absolutely the best. We could not recommend him more! Take the tour. You will love it!

He was fun, friendly, professional, respectful and very passionate about the region. His main focus is supporting smaller wineries owned by locals, although had all bases covered from very traditional to experimental wines across the places we visited.
His knowledge of the area was fabulous, and we were lucky to have an (accidental) private tour as we were only available on his usual day off. Instead of staying at home, he decided to take us on the best wine tour I’ve been on (which is a few, all across Australia). He even managed to cater for a vegan and vegetarian, even though his usual lunch spot had a power outage, and his wife Kerry joined us for lunch, which was a lovely addition.
If you have the chance to do a wine tour in McLaren Vale, I really couldn’t recommend Chook enough.

An absolute amazing day spent with Kerry (Mrs Chook) touring various vineyards in the McLean Vale. Kerry collected us in our chariot for the day, absolute luxury, and took us to our 1st tasting for the day which we had requested.
As we had no other requests, we asked to visit further vineyards upon their recommendations. We were in for a real treat!! We visited 3 further vineyards that were smaller family establishments and not only had fabulous tastings but learnt the history of their wines, how they processed them and adapted to the various climatic changes. All 3 were entertaining and charismatic in their own individual ways.
This was a day we'll remember for a very long time and will definitely be contacting 'Chooks wine tasting tours' when we come back. Thanks Chook and Mrs Chook for a truly wonderful day.

We were lucky to find Terry (or Chook on his advice) to take us on McLaren Vale, Claire and Adelaide Hills winery tours over three days.
He was prompt, courteous (almost to a fault - lol), arranged visits efficiently and extremely knowledgeable - on almost any relevant topic! His contacts in the wine industry for visits was terrific.
His mini bus was modern, clean, quiet and effective for all 6 of us including for disabilities!
His ability to read the crowd and respond effectively is almost legendary. Great tour operator.

The perfect McLaren vale tour. We had a great day with Chook and visited some amazing small wineries that we would never have found on our own. Lunch was awesome too. Highly recommend chooks tours.

Chook (and Mrs Cook) organised a really well organised tour of the McLaren Vale for our daughter's 21st b'day. Excellent choice of smaller wineries, beautiful lunch, a fun label making stop and then a last gem of winery to finish a fantastic day. And to top it off, my husband noticed 10 minutes after drop off that he had left his phone in the bus and Chook turned around to drop it off. Thank you. Highly recommended.

We booked Chook for a 5 person private winery tour in the McLaren Vale. Couldn't speak highly enough of the experience. The bus was beautiful, the commentary interesting, the wineries all first class. Chook and Mrs Chook were very good to deal with as we organised the tour, and they also accommodated our request for a specific winery even though it isn't one they would usually visit.
We were staying in Victor Harbour and they were happy to collect us from there (other providers wouldn't come that far south).
Great service, great day. We will most certainly book with Chook when we are in the region again.

You will be in great hands with Chook whilst he takes you to some of the best wines the region has to offer. We visited Hugo’s, Kangarilla Road/Silent Noise, Dogridge and Geddes. All had something different to show us from such a diverse wine region. The hospitality from all the vineyards was a highlight as was Chooks local knowledge and humour.
