It was lovely going over the causeway, currently they are renovating the track for the Tram, but I am sure once that is done going across the causeway and to the end of the Island will be lovely.

The horse tramway is a fun experience for the kids. It only goes at walking speed, so if your aim is solely to get to Granite Island you'd be better off walking, but the kids will enjoy it. The views from the bridge are beautiful.

A wonderfully quaint and enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a trip to Victor Harbour from Adelaide or Mclaren Vale for a really relaxing getaway. And with half a dozen great fish and chip shops in town lunch is an easy option.

Once we saw the horse drawn tram we had to take a trip. You have the option of one way or return. We decided to go over, walk around the island and walk back. The steady pace of 'Murray' allowed plenty of time to look...More

Plenty of kicking and screaming kids aboard a tram that walks you the 80 meters to the island. Better off walking and appreciating the view.

This horse tram has been running for many years and is usually full of excited people going across to Granite Island. The horses are alternated during the day and the 'off duty' ones are in open stables near the Victor Harbor end of the line....More

The trip is about half an hour each way with a twenty minute stopover. You could also stay longer and catch the next trip back.
