- Susie C9 contributionsEnjoyed feeding the roosWe visited in term time and so it was fairly deserted. Highlights were feeding the kangaroos, seeing joeys in their mums pouches and patting the koalas. Wasn’t so sure on the crocs though- unlike Australia zoo you didn’t know if they’d been rescued from a worse life (hopefully) or just been captured for the park! Kids really enjoyed seeing lots of different mammals and patting the koalas. Staff knowledgable and friendly. Also it’s very close to port Victor.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 October 2023
- Emma P1 contributionGreat day out in nature.Urimbirra is awesome. I have been on many occasions with family and friends. The kangaroos are friendly and easy to feed and it's an added bonus if a joey pops its head out of the pouch. Patting the koalas is amazing and something my kids enjoy. There are reptiles to see, birds you can up close to, crocodiles and so much more. Urimbirra offers a relaxed, family friendly environment that is very affordable. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the gift shop offers a huge range of gifts and you can take your own food and drinks to keep costs down too. Urimbirra is a must see and do destination whenever in South Australia.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 December 2023
- surfcoastguyGeelong, Australia142 contributionsGreat place to see and interact with native wildlife.Kids really enjoyed their time at the park feeding the animals and getting a chance to pat a Koala which is illegal in Victoria where we are from. As others have mentioned the park is a bit tired and the enclosures certainly do need some renovation or tlc bit other than that we really enjoyed ourselves. Personally, I’d be upping the cost of the entry fee and investing the extra income back into the park to improve the enclosures. $36 for an adult and 3 kids is really cheap, I would have been happy to pay $50.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 January 2024
- Dannielle A1 contributionJan 2024We loved the interaction with the kangaroos and koalas and snake- all very calm and friendly. Staff were helpful and even offered us a kangaroo toy that was $20 cheaper for our son. I would recommend bringing a small picnic food as there aren’t any food there- except packet chips and ice creams and drinks. Or eat before you go. The grounds are well kept for the animals and for visitors.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 January 2024
- Diverdan28Ingleside, Canada575 contributionsCan't miss wildlife experienceThis was our favorite of the many wildlife parks we visited in Australia over a 3 week trip. Very reasonably priced with only a token charge for the hand-out food. Expansive grass covered grounds with many shade trees and ample amounts of roos and walabies to oblige the anxious feeder. Excellent selection of native wildlife supplemented by domestic animals like sheep and goats. You can easily spend several hours here . Great experience for both kids and adults. - KerrinLeeWilsonMelbourne, Australia14 contributionsDo not miss this place if in Victor Harbor.Happy, well cared for animals in a natural setting. Very chill vibe. We spent 3 hours there which had not been our plan. Somehow it just felt relaxed and we didn’t want to leave. To be able to pay a koala was awesome.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 April 2024

You will have nice interactions with kangaroos [hand-feeding] and koalas [gently touching and stroking their soft furs]. Entrance fee is 16 AUD for adults, free for toddlers.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 July 2024

We [5 adults and 1 toddler] experienced an amazing unforgettable moments in this wildlife park. Entrance fee is 16 AUD for adults and free for children under 4 years old. Several kangaroos hopped to greet us when we opened the metal-wired gate. At first we were scared, but surprisingly the kangaroos were friendly and nice. They have sad brown eyes directly looking at us, hopefully asking for feed. They stand on their feet while their paws holding our hands. They softly licked the feed in our palm. We were lucky to get the chance to gently stroke the soft furs of the koalas. Another good things: (1) the staffs are very kind and helpful and (2) female toilettes were clean.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 July 2024

A really cheap wildlife park that can keep a family entertained for an hour or so.
However, it is disappointing. If they charged an extra dollar and spent it wisely it could be very good, but it looks tired and uninspiring in some areas.
First of all, and most importantly, credit for getting the most important bit right. The animals all look in good shape and appear well looked after.
But -
Their map is poor and won't help you navigate anywhere. For next to nothing, they could produce something meaningful.
Many of the enclosures apparently have animals in them, but there are no signs indicating what animal it is. How easy would it be to put a few signs up?
Many of the enclosures are overgrown with weeds. While it is justifiable to have some vegetation cover for a few ground dwellers, you also need to give them options to get into the sun if they want to and it would make viewing a whole lot easier. There's no justification for this at all in the messy bird enclosures as far as I can tell.
The only organised activities are being able to scratch a koala on the back and handle a snake. It would be so easy to give speeches/displays, perhaps at feeding time, for some animals.
When I was there, the walk through aviary was closed, supposedly because one of the birds was getting aggressive. This was supposedly a seasonal thing and I have to accept that on face value. I visited in late autumn and hadn't previously heard of birds getting aggressive at that time of year.

Loved seeing the animals but when we were about to leave one person from the group wasnt allowed to use the bathroom as they said wasnt "a visitor" mind we paid over $100 to go in...
Also if you have children in nappies or you have rubbish they don't have rubbish bins. When i asked for an outside bin where the cars are parked the lady was very rude with her response and said "we don't for that reason!"

Visited Urimbirra with our 15 and 17 year old. The park isn't overly elaborate but the level of interactivity with the animals is outstanding! Kids feed kangaroos and wallabies, held snakes and were able to get up close and personal with the koalas; all this for under $50!
Another key highlight was the acknowledgment of the traditional owners of the land on which the park sits. Time your visits with the animal shows and you have a great afternoon.

We traveled through McLaren Vale & Willunga heading for Victor Harbor and stopped at this park (on the way, easy to get to and find) It was very reasonably priced to get in and a full paper bag of kangaroo food was only $1
The staff at entry were very friendly and engaging and made us feel welcome. There were only a few other people there so not at all crowded and could enjoy everything at our own pace. I felt all of the animals looked healthy and happy and well cared for. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend

Spent the day showing a German visitor a little of what SA has to offer and Urimbirra Wildlife Park didn’t disappoint. Five stars for the relaxed atmosphere and the healthy happy animals, birds and reptiles. The visitor and us had the chance at no extra cost to touch a Koloa, feed kangaroos , emus and hold a snake. The staff were informative and helpful. Please take the opportunity to visit it’s well worth the time approximately 2 hours.

We had some family visiting from the UK who couldn't wait to see Koalas and kangaroos. This fauna park is a nice size to walk around easily. They got to pat a koala and feed the many friendly kangaroos right from their hand with the food bought for $1. They found the experience amazing, as did I. We also saw emus, crocodiles, echidnas, kookaburras and a variety of parrots and reptiles.
In the gift shop a few souvenirs were purchased for reasonable prices. The coffee was pretty good too! We found the staff friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit even if your a local. We will definitely take our visitors there in the future.

I would absolutely not reccommend Urimbirra wildlife park. The entrnace door states that the park does not recieve any government funding and that becomes abundantly clear once you enter the park. There is a total absence of animal caretakers: during the Coala petting there was one employee present but she was busy with the snake handling, thus allowing more than 30 uncareful guests to flock and handle the Koalas. I visited the Enchida enclosure twice, an hour apart, and the same animal was clawing at the gate the whole time, both times. The park has plenty of big birds trapped in small cages, which gives much more of a zoo-like experience, rather than a open-range wildlife park it is supposed to be. Overall, the facilities are run down and it seems as if the animals are not taken care of properly. Don’t go.

Beautiful! Highly recommended. Few things that stood out - no crowd, own pace circuit, welcoming staff! Can tell animals are well looked after, relatively cheap - i recommend going closer to 2 tho as the koalas are available to hold then. We will return!
