My husband and I are gearing up for a trip of a lifetime around Australia later in a year with our two young kids. As part of our preparation, we recently took a 4WD training course with Pindan Tours. Located at the forefront of Flinders Ranges, Pindan Tours gave us a real 4WD experience and a great excuse for a family getaway.

Spread over two full days, the training was comprehensively designed and conducted with the highest level of expertise and professionalism. Norm and Coralie made every effort to create a personal experience tailored to our needs, delivering an unforgettable adventure for the whole family that reached far beyond the course curriculum. While Norm patiently delivered the theory and taught us crucial practical skills on a picturesque private 4WD track overlooking Spencer Gulf, our kids explored native flora and fauna, prepared amazing crafts, and learned how to cook delicious scrolls under a caring eye of Coralie.

Being very generous with their time, willingly sharing personal expertise and tips, as well as letting us drive their brand new 4WD, proves that Coralie and Norm take great pleasure and pride in introducing you to what is undoubtedly one of their greatest passions in life. What is more, the course is also very competitively priced, which means you are getting a great value for your money (while supporting local, family business!).

Thank you, Coralie and Norm, we can’t wait to join you on one of the tag-along tours!

With sincere recommendations,

Kasia and Rino

It was our first time visiting the Flinders Rangers so we decided to book a Pindan day tour on our first day there to get an idea of the history and area. It was a fantastic decision as there were so many places we would never have seen or known about otherwise. It was about 9 hours all up and most of it is driving. We have three children aged 13, 6 and 2. Norm, Coralie and Norms mum (who also came along for the ride) were fantastic with our boys and considered their needs and safety throughout the whole day. We got to stop and go for walks around different ruins and historic sites with beautiful views and scenery everywhere.

The razorback lookout was one of my highlights, it looked like a painting. It was stunning. We were completely shocked and mesmerised with the Jeff Morgan gallery. We were expecting a few pictures on a wall but it was so much more. Floor to ceiling paintings that looked so real. Highly recommended. Throughout the tour, Norm would explain the history over the UHF radio and even the kids picked up so much information including the history of the Ghan and how ripple rocks were created.

Norm and Coralie were extremely welcoming, passionate & informative who clearly love what they do. Were looking forward to returning to the Flinders and booking a 4wd tour next. Even if you've been there before, I highly recommend booking a tour!

A memorable and thoroughly enjoyable Tag-along tour of the Madigan Line crossing the Simpson Desert. The history, geography and flora was accurately conveyed to the travelers daily and over UHF radio. The Pindan sand was spectacular and the dune crossings were challenging, but supported by Norm's immense 4WD experience, which he willingly passed on. Our tour group was a friendly and cooperative bunch from 3 states and all enjoyed the outback experience.

Just wow! I did the Gnarly 4WD Tour with Norman and Coralie leading the way. Their expertise and knowledge are second to none with interesting and informed descriptions of the local area and history. While that was simply brilliant, the 4WD'ing was next level, just what I was after to test me and my machine. The tracks were from 8/10 to 10/10 difficulty rated with my heart in my mouth many times. But, their guidance and advice gave me confidence, and by day 4 I was tackling rugged up and downhill tracks with much more confidence than on day 1. The others on the tour were great too, with plenty of yarns around the campfires to keep us entertained. All up this was one the best 4WD things I've done. I highly recommend tours and training with Norm and Coralie, they are the best,

On our first (and only) night sleeping in our swag under a part moon and a black sky littered with stars. It was breathtaking!!
Thanks to the assistance of Norman and others on tour, helping us get over the few really difficult sand dunes we were able to get going again. The drive to Nalara Rock and back to the Googs Track was a great experience and will hold many memories. The many lizards, the beautiful flora which was beautifully described by Coralie along the way. The bush presented so colourful from the recent rains.
Unfortunately our Nissan X Trail was not able to handle the next section of this track, and the fact that even though we were carrying extra fuel, given the amount of fuel we had already used, and the distance and terrain, it was a mutual decision that we would return to Ceduna. Thanks for the experience!!

Absolutely Brilliant!!

I was gifted the 2-day basic 4WD course with Pindan Tours and 4WD Training for my birthday. We do a lot of 4WDing and have plans to tackle an extensive lap of Australia in the near future but at the moment, my partner does most of the driving. It was just so fantastic to be pushed out of my comfort zone, learn a heap of new skills as well as reasoning behind some things I already do (but maybe wasn’t sure why) as well as learning to trust the vehicle. To top it off, Dan learnt some valuable skills too! Norm and Coralie were lovely hosts and Norm’s knowledge far surpasses that of anyone else we’ve encountered. We were extremely comfortable in asking questions at all times, had the opportunity to drive through some of the Flinders most spectacular scenery and also learned some sneaky tips to make life on the road that little bit easier!

We are now looking at signing up for the advanced 4WD course and seriously recommend the course to ANYONE looking to start out or extend their current skills further. No question is ever silly and no one is ever too experienced to learn something new!

Thanks Pindan Tours and 4WD Training, we’ll be seeing you again soon.

During our days with Norman & Coralie we not only experienced ruggedly beautiful landscapes - despite the drought conditions - but I learned more about 4WD technique, geological and early settler history as well as botanical understanding of this ancient series of mountain ranges.
UHF radio connection between vehicles ensures regular and easy communication.
I thoroughly recommend Pindan tours to both local and international travellers.

To our Instructors Norm and Coralie, we are writing to extend our heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to attend your recent 4WD Certificate Course. They encourage active participation, foster critical thinking, and ensure that every student feels valued. The 2 day sessions were not only informative but also incredibly inspiring. It was a wonderful experience meeting great people, learning from experts, and acquiring new skills. I will definitely put what I learned into use, especially Susie, who thought this was definitely out of her comfort zone.
Thank you once again for this valuable experience and looking forward to our “Tag along tour to the Googs Track” in October.
Best regards Manfred and Susie, Pasadena SA

A splendid, informative and very enjoyable four day adventure along Goog's Track. Our hosts, Norm & Coralie, were welcoming, extremely professional and a wealth of information on the history of the track, 4 Wheel Driving in general and in the botany of the area.
A safe and fun way to explore this truly remarkable part of our country.

An excellant 10 hour day tour of the Flinders Ranges starting at 8 am in Quorn. Norm and Coralie were fantastic hosts with an amazing knowledge of the area and it's history. We covered quite a distance in the day, covering ground which would be difficult to do in a day without Norm's detailed knowledge, and you have to have a four wheel drive vehicle. They took us to places of significant current and historical importance. Thoroughly recommend if you have limited time for a tour in the Flinders.
