Horseshoe Bay is a protected swimming beach which is very popular with families during the summer holidays. You can fish from the Jetty, watch the kids play in the playground or go for a swim in this sheltered bay. Why not follow the rugged cliff around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches. Horseshoe Bay has been a favoured destination for visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for a long time come and experience this very popular destination. During the months from June - October each year the cliffs surrounding Horseshoe Bay provide a great vantage point for spotting Southern Wright Whales as the protected coastal waters become a whale nursery. Or you may spot Seals and Dolphins in the protected bay while enjoying a picnic or riding along the Encounter Bikeway that passes through Horseshoe Bay. The historic township of Port Elliot is situated on the coastline between the towns of Victor Harbor and Middleton. While your in Port Elliot take the time to explore The Strand area with its many historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Tucked off to the side of the main rd between Victor Harbor and Goolwa this sleepy little village has escaped the insensitive development associated with other seaside towns. A beautiful swimming beach for families. Don't forget to take the headland path behind the Surf Lifesaving Clubrooms at the West end of the beach.Visit the bakery in the town for the... More

Two weeks at Horseshoe Bay and a 5km walk everyday, believe it or not, I could incorporate a different part of the bay, town and gardens in my walks!! A very pretty place, steeped in history. Take the time to read the information signs and a visit to the memorial gardens is a must.

First visited here with my parents over 50 years ago while staying at Victor Harbor on annual summer holidays. Later brought my own family here for many happy years of beach fun. Swimming, body boarding and just lying on the sand. Always an enjoyable but safe experience for everyone. Now enjoy the various walks behind the beach with lovely views... More

Last weekend of school holidays and this place was buzzing with families and holiday makers but not so much that you couldn't find a spot on the beach. Patrolled by life savers and a protected beach you can actually swim! Great for standup paddling or kayaks. Lovely garden walk behind the beach with magnificent views. Flying Fish Cafe serves delicious... More

It was a 37 degree day and we went to horseshoe bay for the first time. It was VERY packed with people. I normally don't like busy places but it was a beautiful beach that was so easy to swim in. My 12 year old daughter jumped off the pier. It was a great day out.

My family had done body-boarding at this location on the 2nd last day of 2015 for 3 hours. It was truely an awesome experience providing one does it safely without being dumped by the big waves/surfs. There's no Surf Living Patrol in this area. So, you have to be reasonably fit and able to do it. But, it is so... More

A cove of sandy beach with crystal clear water. Complimented with a seafood restaurant/café - The Flying Fish.

Beautiful place, nice beach. Though it was very windy day, it was to lay down on the beach and watch the scenery.

They were doing construction work in the car park at the time we were there so is was difficult to park and the noise distracted from the pretty views
