Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great display of history of town in the well presented 'N' gauge model train that runs for 10 minutes with the press of a button, and series of mural panels. The shop was well stocked also! Accessible by wheelchair - small step at entrance, and wide access lanes once inside BUT need to be able to stand or be held at standing height to see the train model.

Went to buy a lotto ticket and found a model railway amongst other things. Very well done and another plus for this very pleasant country town.

The Burg is inside the newsagency, which is worth a look on its own. Inside the Burg is a working model train, a video and fantastic muriels covering the walls. Children would love a visit there.

Set up in a side room in the news agency, the staff were very friendly & informative. The miniature railway was excellent & set up as close as possible to current day Peterborough, as space would permit. A gold coin donation is a very minimal request for what is on display. Thank you very much for sharing this with all the tourists that pass through your very well preserved & interesting town. I highly recommend a visit to all researching Peterborough.

Really surprised by what they had in this shop so much to look at and buy. Their displays and The Burg were fantastic. The lady was really friendly and helpful.

Iconic legend with a great story, Bob traveled the trains so regularly to become a mascot and legend.
The monument erected to ensure he’s never forgotten.

The Burg is actually the local newsagent, which has a small museum off to one side. In the museum you can see a small model train set up. If you press the button, it runs for 10 minutes.

Overall, this small attraction is free and fills in a couple of minutes, so why not take a look?

We wandered into the Burg and took our time having a good look. There has been lots of time, energy and love gone into creating this magical scene. Must take the time to have a look.

Whether your local or touring the town visit the local newsagent for reading material, souvenirs and many other interesting things, and a MUST see is "The Burg". It is centrally located in the main street and entry is via the newsagents shop. There is a lot of history, a model railway setup of the original railway yards of Peterborough back in its heydays. It is suitable for all ages and would please everybody who visits.
