Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bob the railway dog loved trains. He travelled extensively, mostly on the coal tender. He even got as far as Sydney.
There is a book about his life and adventures which is a highly entertaining and informative read.
This site is a statue of him.

What a delightful excuse to stop in Peterborough. This charming statue is easy to find on the main street. It is very life like and makes you want to pat Bob the Railway Dog and read his heartwarming story.

Find the book and have a read.
A funny little fellow and worth knowing about. SA's forerunner to Red Dog (that's worth looking at too)

Great little town to stay for a couple days. Plenty to see if you have a love of railway history. Do yourself a favour and stop @ the local butcher in Main Street and get some chicken, cheese and bacon rissoles BOOM

What a great story of a dog back in the 1800s who loved riding on trains. He even went as far as Sydney! So worth stopping and reading Bob's story. Bob's statue is surrounded on tge pavement of other dogs who have departed.

Being animal lovers, we loved coming across the statue on our walk around town. There is a great story about this famous dog travelling on trains. It was so nice to see Bob the Railway dog acknowledged as part of Peterborough's history.

Immortalised in bronze, this stray certainly had a great life travelling the railways from Peterborough to as far away as Oodnadatta, Sydney, Melbourne and beyond. Give the pooch a pat and read his tale.

This statue is in the middle of town on the Main Street. Bob was a hero in his time on the trains. Well worth stopping and reading his story.
