Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Peterborough Historic Society volunteers are doing a wonderful job cataloging thousands of JOB Work tickets, many dating back a hundred plus years, that give a true history of the life & times of residents of Peterborough & surrounds over the last century & more. Some of the printing machinery at this "living museum" would be over a hundred years old. The Peterborough Print museum is a real time look at a printing company that was once the heartbeat of a town & over the years diminished until in 2001 the last owner could no longer keep it going, walked out the door, locked it, probably went to lunch & never came back.
But today, thanks to State & Local government grants & the generosity of the hard working volunteers, visitors to this museum can be transported back in time to when printing was an art form, where compositors (type setters) wore a collar & tie & the boss was ALWAYS referred to as Mr. ..... never by his first name. If you would like to see how a small printing company looked in the 1970's then visit this wonderful historic house with printing machinery.

No newspapers, posters or invitations are printed here now. The owner just walked out. With a few machined now working and others waiting restoration, we could see how all of it was done. Decades of company records of orders, job instructions and accounts have been found and are being digitised. Most importantly, the volunteers form the local history club provide a warm welcome and an insightful tour (Wed - Fri). One of the many things to see in Peterborough.

Spent a wonderful morning at the museum to see a working print museum was like stepping back in time, the history is so important to keep and see how another time was lived. A must visit for everyone.

This historic printery and equipment / displays are an exemplary example of the skills, knowledge and sophistication of compositers and Linotype operators in bygone eras.
Thank heavens for local volunteers for the hundreds of hours and dedication in making this the attraction of the area.
And they are dog friendly...... best stop on our road trip.

The passionate volunteers here told us about the printing works' place in the region's history, and showed us how every aspect of linotyping, typesetting and printing was done. They started up all the old machines for a demonstration of how they worked - the precision and elegance of the machines in motion was beautiful. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.

The information centre strongly suggested we visit this old lost printing place. When you arrive you are greeted by smiling friendly knowledgeable talkative people. Take a tour and go back to the very early days of printing. Your tour guide will in fine detail demonstrate old printing machines, show you every and I mean every function that must be carried out prior to any printing machine to print. All machines and other equipment are in first class condition. You will be informed of how this place became a tourist must see historic site. It is a credit to the hard working volunteers who are very proud to explain all who enters their door. This place is WOW to visit. A must see place in Peterborough. Thank you. Oh I forgot to mention the male mechanical person who maintains these machines. Well done. Please train another so this place can survive for another 100 years. Grand children and great grand children must be able to visit see this place in years to come.
Ask about the displays of hand made items over near the old council office. You will be taken back, you will be amazed when you enter and see what is in the room.

We were not expecting this in a country tower of now 1200. A full newspaper printing shop set up just as the owner left it without notice 20 years ago. All the machinery works and is demonstrated by the outstanding tour guide. We learnt so much not to mention the origins of “The Wrong End of the Stick” , “Cut to the Chase”, and “to quoin a phrase”... all fascinating and just adding to the experieince which is Peterborough. Definitely a must see while you are here....
