Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very interesting cavalcade of early settlement in Murray Bridge. Initially the residence of the engineer responsible for the first bridge over the Murray. It has been a school house, post office and council offices during its long history. Full of interesting artefacts which for the most part are hands-on and able to be touched and closely examined. Very interesting architectural structure as well, reflecting the initial resident’s quirky style.

Such a beautiful, old stone house situated upon a hill in Murray Bridge. Was fascinating to see so many doors to enter into the building. The gardens were pretty and well maintained. The house itself was closed when we went there so we weren’t able to look around inside. Loved the memorial section dedicated to those whom have sadly died to suicide.

The Round House is a very interesting building originally built to house the superintendent of the Murray Bridge road bridge, its been a school and it housed the original Murray Bridge Corporation (now Council). Its well worth a visit, staffed by volunteers who are a wealth of knowledge about the building itself and the history of the area. The views of the bridges and the river are enough in themselves 👌

We walked up there from Sturt reserve. Unfortunately the house was closed to visitors but we were able to walk all around it and appreciate the wonderful views over the 2 bridges and the Murray river below while reading the interesting history about the building of thoses 2 bridges

The Round House is a unique, historic residence furnished with period furniture and exhibits of a by gone era when the first bridge was buiklt over the Murray River in South Australia. It overlooks the vehicular and train bridges and has spectacular views of the mighty Murray River

Visited here a couple of weekends ago with friends from out of Murray Bridge. Had never visited there before, despite living here my whole life. It brought back great memories of the things that used to be made in the town (Geisel's soft drinks, Wilmshurst's soft drinks and Freesia ice cream. The view of the bridges and the river are great too ! Make sure you take your camera (I didn't). Will most certainly be back with friends from out of town again.

As our paddle steamer was moored close by we could not resist visiting the Round House that was built originally for the chap overseeing the construction of the bride. Since then it has been a number of things and now preserved and full of memorabilia .
Very interesting with good information from all the staff.

Inside it explained why that bridge had decided to built across the murray river site because nearby hand powered ferry had some accidents that lost stock and goods when the plans started drew, South Australia Railways heard that and decided to use that bridge so plans back to drawing board again to accomodate the railway, more strength bridge. Railway line bridge 2 years later after bridge finished built.

After dropping into the Murray Bridge's Tourist Information for a map, I followed the Discovery Trail, which led me to the Round House. Unfortunately, I was a bit early and the Round House was closed but the gardens are open during daylight hours. I could imagine that the hexagonal shape of the house would allow for many vistas over the Murray River.
