About
We might be biased, but we think the Brewshed is an awesome place to enjoy a beer. Located in Totness (near Mount Barker and only a four-minute drive from Hahndorf), the Brewshed is a family-friendly brewery, open 7 days a week. The space offers a full view of the brewery in operation, and the kitchen offers a wide selection of pub classics & specialty seasonal menus. The Pony is famous for its wood-oven pizzas, burgers and snack foods that match perfectly with your craft beer. Get together in our dining room or beer garden (well-behaved dogs are very welcome) and revel in a space we built ourselves using recycled materials that have been creatively repurposed, sparking a homely, welcoming environment for friends and family to gather. With an inviting, welcoming social atmosphere, we offer live music on Sundays and cater to non-beer drinkers with a selection of quality wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages on offer.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Managed to only be able to book for 1:30 which was fine as we had booked on the same day. Unfortunately when we got there, we were told that their oven and hot plates weren't working so the only food they could do was deep fried food. No pizzas, burgers etc.
I know things happen but I had put my phone number on the reservation as well as my email. If they had have warned us, we could have made a booking elsewhere. Once we arrived, it was too late to make bookings at some other local places. Ended up with McDonalds.

What a Gem this place is. Great choice of food on the menu, also drinks. Cocktails were exceptional. Friendly staff, this place is definitely worth a visit in the Adelaide Hills. We will definitely return.

So disappointed. The place was so unfriendly & the food gross . The tiny bony wings were slathered in too much spice; even though I requested the spice be as a side for dipping. They did nothing about it even though my requests were specific only offered a beer but after not being able to eat the 1kg of wings nor could my son eat his hot dog (too Spicy) and my wife’s brisket on chips were sloppy. Very disappointed not what reviews told us. Not family friendly.

Had my son’s 21st here last night in the outdoor enclosed area.
Booking and email communication with Matt was efficient and friendly. Everything that we had planned for the night was executed well.
We had a set menu which was enough food for 34 of us, with two leftover pizzas and two salads to take home. Our coeliac peeps had a pizza of their choice as well as halloumi battens and fresh salads.
Pizzas were delicious, slight waiting time, but staff were doing an amazing job considering how busy it was and it was not an inconvenience at all.
Finally, Baxter is a credit to your establishment. Such a friendly and outgoing young man, he was on the ball with everything I asked of him, and did it all with a cheeky grin. Was so refreshing to be served by someone who clearly loves their role, and enjoys dealing with slightly frazzled customers.
Top notch guys, will definitely be back.

I expected more. Had dinner booked for 4 as my first visit, First impressions somwhat soured by the fact you have to go all the way into and upto the bar to ascertain where your table was. No door greater. Surely someone could be alloacted the role. As it was our table was still occpied so another had to be found. Fod was ok, nothing special, could have donw with some more flavour. With so many options throughtout the hills, you really need to stand out

The quirky casual dining space in the brewshed is fun and it has a nice buzz about it. And of course if you are a beer fan you are in the right place! Sadly nothing more positive to say.
We had a booking in the beer garden (made a long while ago) but it was very wet on the day. On arrival they didn’t seem to have considered that maybe making provision for that reservation at an indoor table might have been a good move. We had few options inside.
The popcorn chicken entree was OK but nowhere near worth the price for the few bites. The wine list is crappy; I guess to be expected at a brewery! It was interesting there were no ‘hard lemonade’ or alcoholic ginger beer type non-wine options to provide more than just beer.
The beef burger was not good. Stale brioche was very surprising. It had a tiny tasteless patty - you almost had to go hunting for it under all the lettuce!! We saw some of the pizzas going out and they looked far far better …but we won’t return to find out.

Another entrant in the ever growing list of great craft breweries opening up in all regions of all states, a very good thing as it allows a fantastic variety and the ability to sample the master brewers interpretation of the various beer styles. As it was the 1st day of October the establishment was full however you were able to purchase take away beers.

Appeared to offer so much more. Good beer range however limited lunch choice. It just seemed to lack atmosphere. Very disappointed overall.

We stopped in to check the place out and possibly grab a bite to eat. We were a bit early for lunch which was unfortunate but we decided on a tasting paddle each to try out their beers. At $18 each the tastings are not cheap but you do get a lot of beer to try and a nice variety, with the option of building your own paddle if you please.

We enjoyed the beers and purchased a few to take home. Service was friendly and the decor is funky, plenty to look at to keep you busy!

Only thing I would probably say is that it is very easy to miss! We drove past it twice trying to find it. Maybe some better signage would help?

A good chef. More staff. And a better understanding of good food. Wouldn’t go back. I will buy my beers from Dan Murphy!
