On our way to Kangaroo Island/Karta Pintingga, a friend and I spent a few very memorable hours with Glen on the waters and sand peninsular of the Coorong, spending two nights in the area to experience this beautiful Australian coastline.
On the way to South Australia we fully immersed ourselves in a the read aloud version of "Salt Creek", a much loved book club choice from years ago.
These few hours will be long remembered - Glen's deep knowledge of the ecosystems, environment and history and geography of the Coorong, the beauty of this quiet landscape so vividly described in Lucy Treloar's first novel, and Glen's generosity in answering all our questions.
In a short walk across the sand dunes we saw so much-in the sky with clouds and birdlife, and on the sand as animal tracks, shells, plants and man's impact gave us a brief glimpse of this, to me anyway, unknown and not well populated part of our extraordinary country.
Thank you to my friend BP for the research. Thank you to Glen for his hospitality and to Tracy for the delicious lunch goodie box. Delicious-particularly the smoked mullet caught and processed by you both. Excellent experience that will be reflected on once we are back in the city!

Your wish was our command. We felt the Parnka Beach Adventure was the closest to what you were looking for. So happy you enjoyed it and my goodie box morning tea.

Just spent the day out with Glen on the Coorong. Excellent weather helped but what a truly enjoyable experience. Glen knows everything there is to know about the Coorong, its unique environment, birds, mammals and of course, the fish. It’s only his jokes that hurt! Tracy produced an exceptional lunch based on local fish with wonderful flavours. Truly well worth making a day of it out in Meningie.

As I work behind the scenes, the lunch option is my opportunity to meet and interact with our visitors. The seafood is harvested and processed by us and I try to present simple but delicious dishes that visitors can make at home. As for Glens jokes you only have to hear them once, i have had 32 years.....ha ha.
Seriously we love what we do and sharing that with you.

Anne & I spent a couple of very special days inTracy & Glen’s company. On day 1, Tracy turned on a spectacular 5 course seafood lunch. We headed for our accommodation with full tummies & satiated smiles on our faces.
On day 2, Glen took us out on his Seabirds & Seals Tour. Glen shared his wealth of knowledge with us & showed us massive colonies of seabirds, a few roaming emus, & seals both frolicking in the water & sunbaking on The Barrages, lined up like sardines in a tin. Fresh air, sunshine & the experience of a lifetime. To top it off, Tracy provided us with a “Goodie Box” filled with yummy local munchies, ranging from cheese & dips to freeze-dried chocolate coated strawberries. The ‘piece de resistance’ was the inclusion of smoked Coorong Mullet chunks in our boxes.
Thank you guys for your care & attention during our stay in the Coorong.

Thankyou for great feedback. It was a pleasure to host you, and you were lots of fun. As a smaller operation we are able to give personal attention and is easy for us to be flexible. Thanks for being our fake real tourists for the filming of the lunch. You were stars. And I
hope you get lots of use out of your beanies.

We learnt so much about the ecology of the Coorong on this tour. Our guide, Glen, has been a commercial fisherman in the Coorong for over 30 years and was able to describe the changes in landforms and vegetation that he's seen over that time. He has a deep knowledge of the water movement, geology, flora and birdlife of the area.
We saw many shorebirds, as well as emus and seals on the tour. Looking at the barrage and hearing about it's history and use was very interesting.

Great day on the Coorong. Been on the bucket list for years but exceeded our expectations. In no small part due to Glens passion for, and knowledge of, the Coorong. He made this an educational as well as a visual experience, aided by Tracy doing the admin and providing a tasty snack box for the trip. Well worth the time and effort to visit this truly unique part of Australia.

We loved the Sea Birds & Seals Tour with Glen on 20th April 2024. We have never seen so many birds and seals before this wonderful Tour. Glen gave so much valuable & interesting information along the way. We also enjoyed a short walk on the dunes and enjoyed an extremely tasty "Goodie Box" of a delightful mixture of foods. You cannot visit the Coorong without enjoying this Tour to make your trip complete. We certainly recommend!!!

We really appreciate the rave review. What Glen does not know about the Coorong is not worth knowing. While we have a basic tour outline, depending on which birds and animals are around, and the questions you ask, Every tour is different so you get an entirely unique experience. Glad you enjoyed the Goodie Box. I have designed it to be like a platter in a box with local products and tasty treats.

If you get this opportunity don’t let it slip by. The experience is indescribable. Glen and Tracy do a fantastic job to make sure the experience is everything you expect. We loved the whole day! Glen gave us a great run down on what to expect and was incredibly informative (and occasionally funny!!) which made the whole day even more fantastic. The walk onshore were long enough to be entertaining but not long enough to be boring. A great day. Learning about the Coorong and seeing the seals was definitely a highlight. Tracy catered for morning tea, seafood tasting and the long lunch after the tour, which was delicious with so much food, definitely worth the price. Would highly recommend this tour to tick off the bucket list.

Coorong Wildside Tours was a experience on the unspoilt Coorong Lagoon. Glen greeted us at the Long Point Jetty, near Meningie. The Wildside boat was stable and safe for all ages, with PFD's provided.
Glen gave us a personal experience and shared his vast knowledge of the Coorong and it's ecosystem. The unspoilt scenery and surrounds were remarkable. Along the tour we saw Emus and their chics in the Dunes, Swans, Pelicans (all from the boat) and gained lots of information on birdlife, fish of the Coorong, and background details on the dunes, vegetation, native and non native fauna.
Afterwards, were were treated to some plates of very tasty fish provided by Tracy, along with some interesting stories of their life adventures. They both made the tour an personal experience that is well recommended (with the exception of some jokes from Glen)

Well that's it for Glen's career as a comedian 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for such a detailed review. 10/10 for your homework.
Seriously we are thrilled you loved the tour and our personal attention. We try to hard to create a unique experience. The Coorong helps with that because of the beauty and variety of animal encounters. Thank you for coming.

Today, with a group of 7 participants and Glen our guide, we did a Seafood and Seals boat tour from Long Point (near Meningie) to the Tauwitchere Barrage and back, followed by a Short Lunch back at Coorong Wildlife Tours headquarters.
I’ve driven past the Coorong many times, and remember all the concerns about it during the Millennium Drought, but today I really got to experience and understand it much better.
The boat ride was fast at times and exciting. We stopped along the way and learned about the evolution and ecology of the Younghusband peninsula Sandhills, fresh water etc. We saw plenty of bird life up close, including emus climbing gigantic dunes and “grazing” at the edge of the water.
At our morning tea stop we scaled a dune to get a fantastic view up and down the Coorong and to see a freshwater soak evolving.
The scene at the barrage was amazing, with huge fur seals relaxing while the pelicans, cormorants, terns and gulls went crazy fishing for freshwater fish coming through the barrage.
Glen’s knowledge and passion for the Coorong and its wildlife was very evident and gave a broad perspective of historical aspects and the many issues faced by the region, and possible solutions.
Lunch was relaxed and informal, with Tracey providing a tasty meal with local seafood and produce, and friendly conversation.
A great experience-thanks Glen and Tracey.
