A fabulous afternoon
Jun. 2020 • Couples
Thanks Kishan and team for a lovely afternoon. We spent nearly 3 hours here over a beautiful platter of meats and cheeses and a wine tasting flight. The standout for us was the Red Fury Tempranillo Grenache. Winter is a fine time to visit. Take your time here, it’s no ordinary cellar door experience.

Hey, thanks for your very kind words about our Cellar Door and Kishan too, really appreciated. We try to give an experience and not just a wine tasting. Super you enjoyed our platter too. Look forward to welcoming you back soon

Was barely aware of Hastwell and Lightfoot before dropping in on a whim. Bravo! Sensational winery. Will be back again for sure. Couldn’t recommend any higher. Friendly atmosphere, rare wines, knowledgeable staff, good selection.

Relax & Enjoy the serenity!

We spent a super afternoon at this family owned & operated cellar door. Mark & Kishan were friendly & very knowledgable, not only about their wines, but also about the local area. We enjoyed a tasty platter with a bottle of Vermentino, sitting on the verandah, taking in the views. Their Tempranillo & Fiano wines didn't disappoint either - we left with a mixed dozen! Highly recommended experience!

Thanks for your review super to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Nothing better than sharing a platter with a wine on the deck unless it is a cold winter's day and you have the platter and wine on one of our Chesterfield lounges in from of out warm fire! Look forward to seeing you again soon

Great experience!

Thought we'd try something a bit different to the more well known cellar doors around McLaren Vale and this was a pleasant surprise. The knowledgeable staff took the time to guide us through their range, and we learnt a few things along the way about wine. The Tempranillo was our pick of the bunch! Room was cosy on a cold winters afternoon, platter was generous, wines were well priced. Staff were all friendly making the experience feel personal! All up a great time, was glad we took the time to check out this gem, will be back!

Hubby and I loved the personal attention we received. Felt like we were important customers. Knowledgeable staff met out every need. We walked away with so many wines because we couldn’t choose! Even though it was close to closing time we weren’t hurried away at all. In fact were treated to an extra reserve wine not on the menu. Will be back for sure.

A gorgeous lunch out with a wine flight each, shared lunch platter and a glass of wine each. A truly relaxing experience, which is difficult to achieve with an active 1 year old. Thank you for amazing wines and a lovely family experience

Came here for their Barbera and fats platter, service was great despite some unruely group who seemed more interested in getting drunk than enjoying the experience. I highly recommend these guys for their professionalism.. 10/10

Thanks for your great review. We are very proud of the Barbera, our first vintage and it made the Adelaide Review's Hot 100 wines for 2019. Sorry about the unruly group!!

Small, family run winery, pleasant wines..but....

We went to Hastwell & Lightfoot Cellar Door today with a small group of 10 friends, who all had Scoupon Vouchers to use - which we advised on booking. On arriving, the Cellar Door Manager gave us a stern lecture that they do not normally do large groups with vouchers, as it was too difficult, they do not make enough money from them and they make too much noise, so we should be “grateful” that they were accepting our booking, and should show this by being respectful and paying attention to what he was to tell us about the wines! He explained that as we were a “large” (unwelcome?) group he would be rushing through the tasting, as he had other customers to attend to, so we should, again, pay attention so we would know what to order at the end ( yeah right...) He then said that based on our behaviour he would decide what entitlements he would bestow on us, despite the vouchers being very specific.. I did provide feedback to him directly, and although he said he would take it on board, I got the distinct impression that he felt his arrogant attitude was perfectly acceptable... We left and went elsewhere for some bubbles 😆 Won’t be going again...lucky the company we went with was awesome!!!
