When planning a trip to McLaren Vale a visit to the Shingleback Tasting...

When planning a trip to McLaren Vale a visit to the Shingleback Tasting Room should be on every agenda. Located at the entrance to the McLaren Vale township, our Tasting Room is housed in what was the original barn of Aldersey Farm. Built in the late 1800's and lovingly restored in 2003, warm in winter and cool in summer, we are sure that your visit to our Tasting Room will be a welcoming, friendly and memorable part of your McLaren Vale experience. As well as having the opportunity to sample and purchase our collection of award-winning wines, including Tasting Room only special releases, you will be able to view artworks by talented local artists. No matter what style of wine you are looking for, the friendly and knowledgeable team will have it or be able to advise where to find it. We look forward to welcoming you to the Shingleback Tasting Room.

Very interesting & personalised degustation-type lunch hosted by Chef Horst. Delicate flavours and textures matched to Shingleback's finest winners. Excellent experience and great value. Thank you Horst & Shingleback!

We met some people on our travel that said Shingleback was a don’t-miss in McLaren Vale, so when we made it there we stopped in for a tasting. We found the wines to all be exceptionally well crafted, accurately described and delicious. We particularly liked the Haycutters Rose (lower priced, but very refreshing without any bitter aftertaste) and the D... More

The service was great with many different samples offered until we found a perfect wine for our tastes. The woman staff member was excellent and knowledgeable and wrapped our wine well for international travel. Lovely setting , gardens and wonderful fireplace on a cold day.

This is a great place to visit no matter the weather as they have an awesome fireplace cranking in winter and great air-conditioned room in summer. The cellar door offers a great range of whites reds and also sweet bubbles. I'm not a big fan of sparkling Reds but their sparkling shiraz has totally changed my mind. It's complex and... More

Cellar door is located just off the main road before the Visitor Information centre on the entry to McLaren Vale village. As we had decided to eat at the Elbow Room restaurant attached to this winery and it did not open until midday we decided to do a bit of wine tasting to fill in the time. We arrived to... More

Great variety of wines and a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. No pressure from the staff to purchase any products and our small group was offered many choices.
