We stopped here on a tour of the McLaren Vale region. Hannah was our host at this venue and she was very personable and helpful.
Location: the cellar door was inviting and had a beautiful rustic appeal with both indoor and outdoor seating. The toilets are in a seperate building but that allows a little walk around the property to appreciate it.
Wine: the wine was fantastic and tasted good. The knowledge passed on from Hannah regarding the efforts and ingredients into the wine made us appreciate it even more. It is because of this a purchase was made.
Food: the option to purchase a platter was available and this platter was well designed and was a great addition to the wine tasting

We absolutely loved this vineyard! Hannah was so lovely and sat us in a warm sunny spot outside while she talked us through the wines during a tasting. The wines are delicious and very cheap, especially compared to what we are used to in Tasmania. We ended up ordering quite a few bottles and getting them delivered to us. They had a good range of whites and reds too, whereas other vineyards have more of a red focus. I got an email two days later that the delivery has already been dispatched and is on its way. Would definitely visit again!

This winery tasting room of this winery is in the original barn of the Aldersey Farm which was built in the late 1800s and restored in 2003. Brothers John and Kym Davey produced the first Shingeback Shiraz in 1998. Today the winery produces more than 100,000 cases of wine a year. The grapes on the winery are planted mostly with Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, Chardonnay and Grenache are among other smaller plantings. We sampled four wines and enjoyed a cheese board ($25 AUD if I recall correctly) on the outside patio.

Shingleback is located at the edge of town and has ample parking and a pleasant setting both indoors and out. Wines, mainly red were good and the platter good quality if not a little over-priced. A pleasant place for a tasting and a light lunch.

I last visited in 2006 and had great memories of the Chardonnay and the intimate tasting room. We designed our own flight of two rose, one Chardonnay and one Shiraz. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The biscuits, olive and cheese was a lovely compliment to the tasting. The outdoor tables had a nice view and breeze.

Shingleback Winery consists of a pleasant cellar door location just on the Adelaide side of McLaren Vale township. We think they provide excellent value wine: great taste at reasonable pricing.
Cellar door staff are friendly and we had a paid wine tasting flight of four samples. The tasting was enjoyable with olive and cheese provided as an accompaniment.
We signed up to the wine club and ordered a shipment of wines not generally available from bottle shops.

Hannah at Shingleback was informative, descriptive, and very thorough. We wouldn’t have picked anyone else (if we had the choice) as she was incredible and very, very knowledgeable.
She made the experience so very worth while + memorable and the customer service was impeccable. Worth the trip to mclaren vale just for this particular winery. Thankyou so much Hannah! X

Located just to the Adelaide side of McLaren Vale, Shingleback is a good place to visit.
It is a lovely venue, easy to find and has some really nice wines at not so expensive prices. A good wine tasting experience - we bought and thoroughly enjoy their wines.

Such a lovely atmosphere.Beautiful & affordable wine range. One of the best. Relaxed and friendly. David, Hannah and Claire did a lovely job at making us feel welcome. We came from another winery that wasnt so good so this was a breath of fresh air.

Came here as our last wine tasting spot as part of a tour (Benders bus company, seperate review) where they seated us outside in the warm weather. Beautiful backdrop and a perfect place to wind down at the end of a busy day. Didn't eat anything and drank only a small tasting of whites so cannot comment much more than that but I would come again as part of a day trip or another wine tour.
