Where to even start with how awesome Ambler Touring is!!!

We originally decided on Ambler Touring as we really wanted a tour that included lunch at Maggie Beers. We weren’t big wine drinkers (apart from Moscato), but we were happy to go along with what everyone else on the tour wanted to do and we would be happy with Maggie.

Imagine our surprise when Di picked us up, to find out that we were the only 2 people on the tour and what did we want to do?? After saying that we weren’t big wine drinkers (apart from Moscato) but were more foodies, the tour began.

We visited cheese places, salami places, chocolate places and only wineries that produced Moscato, of course Maggie’s, and we even visited a new gin brewery as something a little different.

Di was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and just a pleasure to spend the day with, you felt like it was a friend showing you around their neck of the woods.

So we would definitely recommend Ambler Touring if you are in this part of the country, they definitely go above and beyond to make sure that the day is what you want.

Thank you kindly for your wonderful review and we are so pleased you had a day to remember. There is nothing quite like being able to meet or exceed expectations but that is always our goal. We love to showcase South Australian regions and for some of our guests, that doesn't always mean wine tours. That is why we tailor the tour to the interests or needs of our guests. After all, it is about what you want, so flexibility is the key! Thank you again.

We would highly recommend Ambler Touring for touring the vineyards and surrounds. Di was our tour guide/driver on three separate occasions and she was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. It was as if she was a personal friend who was showing us around her neighbourhood. The small group tours is definitely something we will be doing again - good bye to the big overcrowded bus tours.

Thank you, Heather and Kim, for your lovely review and sharing the story of your experience travelling with Ambler Touring. We do try to tick all the boxes where possible and love that our guests appreciate and enjoy their day/s with us. We think the personalisation or each tour is the key. It allows us to modify the trip as we go if we need to and provide a unique tour based on our guest's interests. Small groups allow us that flexibility. Thank you again.

Should you be looking for an extremely personal & professional company this is for you.
We were taken to areas large buses would not go & given information along the way, everything exceeded our expectations & we would definitely recommend Ambler Touring for any travel in Adelaide.
Di even dropped us at the airport after our tour even though it was out of her way

What an excellent Tour of the Barossa and Adelaide Hills, I highly recommend. Roger was a fabulous tour guide and went above and beyond all day to ensure the tour was very personalised and to ensure i visited my preferred wineries, breweries and distilleries. We started the day with a lovely chocolate and coffee experience in the Adelaide hills, followed by some fruit picking, local sight seeing (so I could take photos) and then a visit to Maggie Beers Farm. In the afternoon we visited a local winery, brewery and distillery and finished the day with a delicious ice cream! Rogers top priority is to ensure you have a memorable day. Highly recommend and I’ll be booking another tour when I return to South Australia

Thank you for your kind review and yes I agree that Roger is indeed attentive, caring and loves what he does. This enables him to engage with his guests and determine their special interests and then be able to personalise the tour to their needs. This is what we do and it seems to work. Thank you again.

We recently took two separate tours with Ambler Touring and they were both fantastic!

The first tour was with Roger, and he took us out for a full day in the Adelaide Hills. Having grown up in the area, Roger knows it like the back of his hand. He picked us up at 9 am in his comfortable van/mini-bus and the tour consisted of stops at multiple boutique wineries, a distillery, an excellent coffee/chocolate shop, a small cheese factory and some leisure time to stroll along the main street in Hahndorf. None of the day felt rushed, and throughout the day Roger provided colorful background information that served to enhance the experience. He clearly knows his history, and having grown up on a large farm he can talk in depth about the agriculture that defines the region. Moreover, he has an easygoing personality that's perfectly suited to the tourism and hospitality industry.

At the end of the day we were so impressed with Roger that we asked him to take us on a subsequent tour of the Clare Valley later that week. This time he brought along his partner, Di, so we were treated to two excellent tour guides for the price of one!

Some of the many stops in the Clare Valley region comprised of boutique wineries (including the historic monastery at Sevenhill Cellars), a pub brimming with character and Martindale Hall - an 1880's mansion in Mintaro that houses interesting artifacts gathered from around the world. We had lunch at an amazing winery where Roger and Di had reserved us the best seat in the house, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time getting to know our hosts. In fact by the end of the day Roger and Di felt more like friends than tour guides.

Given our experience, it's obvious that Roger and Di love living in South Australia, and they genuinely enjoy sharing some of the best that the region has to offer with visitors. Another bonus: their prices are very reasonable. And did I mention they're really nice people?

Thank you Roger and Di for making our stay in SA so memorable!

Roger from Ambler Touring was just wonderful. For 2 people, he was the most cost effective option I could find. We were able to select the destinations (wineries and other tourist attractions) we wanted to visit. Roger provided some very helpful advice and then helped us to reorganise the day, when we were made aware of altered public holiday hours.
On the day, he was punctual, knowlegeable, flexible and committed to ensuring we had a good time. I am looking forward to booking my next McLaren Vale wine tasting tour with Ambler Touring and visiting some of the smaller, less known wineries. Def recommend Never Never Distillery and Chalk Hill Wines

Wonderful private day tour to Mclarev Vale which included seeing parts of Adelaide Hills and the coastline. The wineries we visited were great and we would particularly recommend Oliver’s Tauranga. Lunch at Star of Greece was splendid. Roger looked after us for the day, took photos of us, made some suggestions as he got to know us and shared his vast and interesting knowledge of the area along the way.
We will be highly recommending Roger and Ambler Touring to family and friends.

Wanted to say Thankyou to Ambler Touring for making my trip to Adelaide so special. it was good to see the surrounding areas, this tour took me through McLaren Vale, a particular big Thankyou to my driver Di. Di is a local and shared lots of information and history about the area, was friendly and attentive and took me into wineries and art galleries I would never think of going myself or knew existed which is the point of going on a tour with a local :-) my personal favourite was Taranga Winery, the rose and grenache outstanding with a dozen delivered to QLD address no problem, the day tour ended with a loop around Adelaide beaches and return to city. Adelaide is well worth a visit & look around, Adelaide city pleasant & easy to navigate with its North, South, East and West terraces, a guided walk around botanic gardens with an amazing cacti display & glasshouse, ate at Restaurant Botanic and would go again, need to book ahead through, a trip to Kangaroo Island and got to see the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula down to Cape Jervis along the way, all this is possble in few days, 5/7 days perfect. Just do it.

We did 2 day tours with Di in April around the Easter weekend. The first was to Adelaide Hills & McLaren Vale (Mt Lofty Summit, strawberry picking at Beerenberg Farm, Hahndorf and the d'ArenbergCube. The second was to Barossa (Maggie Beer's Farm Shop, Seppeltsfield Estate, Menglers Hill Lookout, Jacobs Creek Visitors Centre, and Lyndoch Lavender Farm).

Ambler Touring was extremely responsive via email prior to our trip, and also helped to fine-tune my itinerary (I had specific places that I wanted to visit). You might have to forgo some places due to traffic/weather conditions on the day itself, and Di was flexible and sought to help us to maximise our time during the tours. She was also more than happy to take photos for us, and we love our photos along Seppeltsfield road with the palm date trees in the background!

Lovely private day trips with Di; reliable operator.

We hope if you ever make it back to Adelaide (South Australia) that we will have the opportunity to show you some of our other beautiful regions. We really do appreciate the wonderful review, thank you!
