About
Foggo is a small, boutique cellar door and vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale, known as the ‘Home of the Fortified’. Each weekend, and by appointment during the week, we host fun fortified flights. The fortifieds are served on a birch timber tray matched with five complimentary ‘bites,’ including chocolate, almonds and cheese. Wine enthusiasts are also well catered for at Foggo, with a range of beautiful small batch, hand-crafted wines including Sangiovese Rose, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, GSM and Chardonnay – some from heritage vines that date back more than 100 years old. “Our fave in the ‘little known hidden gem’ category…..no flashy architecturally designed cellar door, restaurant or tourist buses, just beautiful handcrafted wines.” J.F Heard

Dropped in here and had a fantastic tasting with Paul. His knowledge of wine, the wine industry, the geology of the region that shapes the wine, and the actual wines he offered us was truely outstanding. Doesn’t actually look much from the outside, but believe me, well worth a visit.

We loved this place!!!
We had both different Fortified Flights and a Foggo Favourite wine flight too. Our son enjoyed a Neipa and an Alcoholic Ginger Beer.
Each flight was served with complimentary snacks; nuts, cheese, chocolates, olives etc.
We’d contacted them before our visit to see if dogs were welcome, which they were and other drink options as our son doesn’t drink wine.
We booked and had to change our booking and Jacqui was so accommodating!
We were sat outside in the glorious sunshine with deck chairs, cushions and a barrel and sun umbrella!
Inside was also great looking, rustic but so chic!
Jacqui hosted us and couldn’t have been anymore helpful, we’ll surely return here!

We really enjoyed our visit to Foggo Wines. Such a relaxing, chilled vibe. Dean and Jacqui are very friendly, knowledgeable and hands on. Enjoyed a tasting in the barrel room which was unique and fun. The ‘Crackin’ Shiraz is now a favourite. We will return.

This place was an odd experience and ended up being so expensive for a tasting. A lack of clarity from staff prior to undertaking a tasting resulted in being slapped with a $40 tasting fee, alternatively you had the option to purchase a bottle which waives the tasting fee. Wouldn’t recommend, I’d rather head down the road and do a much more reasonable priced wine tasting.

Wow jranger1212....your review nearly floored us! We remember your recent visit. We welcomed you and advised you of the $10 tasting fee on your arrival (as we do all our guests) and seated you in our warm and cosy cellar door. We brought you glasses of chilled water, provided complimentary nuts and offered generous tastings of five of our small-batch, handcrafted wines - all of which you seemed to thoroughly enjoy. The only 'awkward' moment we recall was when it was time to pay for the tasting! We notice you put in another crushing review of another venue within 24 hours - perhaps just hard to please?

We stopped in here whilst visiting a few wineries in the area. The cellar door is quite small but reasonably charming. There was another couple already there talking to the host, but other than that there was no one else around. We didn't get much of a hello, but we asked to try one of the wines which was poured for us. After this we weren't offered to try a second. No chat, no friendliness. Cannot comment too much on the single wine we tried. There are plenty of other great wineries nearby, so I would give this one a miss in the future.

And I had to write a review about how good this wine is. The sparkling shiraz wasn't up my alley, but the other reds were fabulous. The cleanskin is by far the best value (quality:price) that we picked up on our trip. The chardonnay was also great.
The personal attention at the cellar door also stood out as a great experience.

Small off the track but worth the visit for people that know and appreciate good wine and good value.
Super granache. Try the red dodge Shiraz and the Hubertus reserve.
Very nice cab and the black myria sparkling Shiraz is heads above many others.

Lovely place where they make wine as they used to years ago.
The cellar master is very friendly and gives you a valued welcome and explains each tasting. Great place to visit and the prices of their quality wines are very reasonable.

The cellar door is not much to look at, this place should use a major overhaul (razing it to the ground would be a good start) but it's more than made up by the owner, the atmosphere and the wines. It was my first visit at Foggo, I've ordered their wines online on previous occasions, but it was worth. They have a wonderful collection of great wines and even better specials. Highly recommended.

Foggo is a bit of a hidden gem in McLaren Vale. Excellent value for money wines, and truly individual service. This is an old school cellar door.
