Great day diving with Nate and Micheal. We did 2 long dives seeing multiple leafy sea dragons, cuttle fish, frog fish and blue ring octopus. Great care was taken to point everything out under water. I got pretty cold after the first dive and Nate provided a hood for the second dive, which was greatly appreciated. He took some great photos and sent them through for us to remember rapid bay diving.

We had a fantastic 2-dive day today with Nate and Michael at Rapid Bay Jetty. Nate cheerfully arranged a last-minute booking for us with BCDs, tanks and weights only 2 days later. We were met on the beach with one other couple, and Nate had all our equipment ready with trolleys for carting our gear down the long walk to the jetty dive drop. Nate and Michael ensured we had all our gear and weights sorted before guiding us on two long, superb dives beneath the old and new jetties at Rapid Bay. As promised, we found several leafy sea dragons, cuttlefish, frog fish and blue-ringed octopus, all cleverly spotted by Nate who took lots of photos, promising to send us some. There were multiple other beautiful fish, including dense schools of the gorgeous Old Wife fish that I had never seen before. Nate was very patient and caring for his team, before, during and after our dives. I heartily recommend him for an excellent diving experience at Rapid Bay.

I was staying in Adelaide with my wife, who was on business at the University of Adelaide. I didn't want to leave Australia without diving and seeing something I can't see back in the US/Caribbean. I made arrangements in advance via email with NB Scuba. Nate was super chill to work with, and we set a date. The day before the scheduled dive, Nate got back to me and let me know that due to high winds, visibility was bad, and asked if we could reschedule. Lucky for me, I still had a few days, so we pushed it off. I really appreciated that he did that so I could have a better experience. It takes a bit of logistics to get down there from Adelaide, but if you hit the train station the day before, you can buy your pass and get comfortable with the transit system. I had already used the train earlier in the week, so I was pretty familiar with it. Michael, my dive guide, met me at the Seaford train stop. He drove me over to NB Scuba, about 10 minutes. I got fitted for wetsuit and BCD, we gathered up our gear, and the two of us hit the road. We first went down to Victor Harbor to dive at The Bluff. Nate and Michael knew there was a group of leafies that had taken up residence there, so that was our best chance to see them. I had never done a shore dive before; all my experience has been off boats. I have a new appreciation for the work it takes to do a shore dive. At the Bluffs, we got our gear on, then we had a swim (about 100 meters, maybe?) around a jetty to the kelp beds where the leafies were. I'd never really done extensive swimming in full scuba gear. It can be tricky, and we were fighting the waves and a little current. But we got there fine. We dropped down to about 8 meters, and started the dive. Very soon, Michael pointed out the first of 2 or 3 leafies that we saw on the dive. I tried so hard to find them myself, but I was unable to do it. Once he found them, though, I could get very close to them and just observe -- they are fairly tolerant of divers. Simply amazing to watch. After the dive, we got back in the car and drove across the peninsula to Rapid Bay, where we dove off a jetty. Had to walk a long way in our gear from the parking lot to the entry point. So again, as somebody not used to shore dives, this was different, and a little strenuous. But Michael was very patient with me as we got ready. We had about an hour at 10 meters, and there was a ton to see at Rapid Bay. Visibility was pretty good, maybe 10 meters or even a little more. We saw cuttlefish, globe fish, squid, a huge ray, and Michael looked everywhere for the blue ring octopush, which he finally found near the end of the dive. He found about 3 of them under a flat rock. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to flip that thing over, but it was so cool to see one of those little guys flash his electric blue colors! This was a very unique dive experience; I got to see so many new species. Michael was a great guide who is able to help you get the most out of your time under the water. I was lucky to be able to dive with just the two of us; we could spend more time underwater than I've done before when I dive with larger groups (seems like somebody always is exhausting their air before I do). Our second dive was about an hour, which was fantastic. I highly recommend this outfit.

NB Scuba is a great company! My dad and I went diving with them and Nathan was very helpful as I am not yet an experienced diver and the conditions were a bit rough. He pointed out lots of cool marine life like the leafy sea dragons, blue ring octopus and cuddle fish! They knew the dive locations extremely well and made it an experience we won’t forget! Thanks:)

We had two amazing dives with Nate and Michael. The leafy sea dragons have moved out of Rapid Bay, so Nate took us first to a different spot, where he found many and kept on pointing at new ones. He took pictures which he sent us later. Second dive at Rapid Bay around jetty with lots of other sea life to see (even if visibility was not the best), like cuttlefish and blue ringed octopus. NB Scuba is strongly recommended if you want fast communication, great dive guide and relaxed amazing dives.
