About
DogRidge is a small family-owned venture that started when our first vineyard was purchased in 1992. We now produce a range of boutique wines from 90 acres of premium McLaren Vale vineyards. DogRidge is the name of an old-fashioned vine rootstock and strangely it caught our imagination. Given the main house is on a ridge overlooking the vines, and we are besotted with curly haired – four legged friends, you can figure it out. So, DogRidge it is, a shared dream that includes art, an intimate cellar door and gallery, heritage vines and, above all, a commitment to distinctive wines that celebrate the beauty around us.

We had a beautiful experience at DogRidge. After going to a number of wineries and needing to book tastings, have it be a formal set amount of time, costly etc, we were stoked to come across this winery where everything is far more relaxed and casual. This is how we remember doing wine tasting when we were here a number of years ago and the experience is so much more fun and personalised. Mandy was fantastic!!! My husband sampled the red wines as I'm pregnant so wasn't able to and he loved the majority of them! Mandy didn't rush us, gave us space to try the range, but also was up for a chat. We ended up purchasing a number of bottles to be sent back home, more than what we had at other wineries who seem to have tried to make tastings an "experience" but it becomes so commercialised. We love how authentic and family run DogRidge is.
Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & I can't wait to try the reds next July!

Stumbled upon this little gem about a year ago and couldn’t wait to return. Both their collections of white wine and red wines are stunning. We loved them all. Fabulous location in the middle of nowhere. Joined their wine club. A must visit when in this region. You won’t be disappointed

Recommended we visit by the ladies at The Tin Shed in McLaren Vale. They weren't wrong - an excellent tasting hosted by a lovely lady who chatted away and introduced us to the owner who also chatted for a while - the family dog also visited us from time to time. The wines were very good, the outlook was lovely, nice and peaceful well away from traffic and people en masse - some interesting art on the walls. We heard about the families and enjoyed the tasting a lot - liberated a couple of bottles - couldn't do more as we were flying out the next day. Only one regret - I was driving and the family wouldn't let me try the Port! Highly recommend - the Tin Shed ladies were right on the button

My husband and I stumbled across Dog Ridge winery today and did a tasting (FREE!!). Wow the wines were amazing and the prices were very fair! Every wine from the whites, reds and sweet wines were top quality. After doing tours of the Barossa valley and McLaren Vale, Dog Ridge has been our favourite find so far! Support the little wineries! They are by far the best hidden gems in these vast wine regions. 🍷

Went with a group and we tasted some great wines here. Our hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable and encouraged us to taste all the wines she was offering.

The port was very good. Many of the wines were good too, but being from interstate we had to restrict our purchases.

Our last winery for the day and well worth it!

I had not visited Dog Ridge for nearly 10 years but it was great to see that they have stayed true to themselves. Still making great, affordable wines and they have an amazing range of back vintage and museum wines which we loaded up on.

A big thanks to Janet for her great, down to earth service which ensured we finished our day on a good note 👍

Had a lovely hour or so with the friendly and knowledgeable Jen. The information about the wines and the region was well-received, and the many wines offered for tasting were delicious. Sipping wine amongst the Blue Wrens and butterflies was a delight after some of the bigger wineries in the area. A visit to this tranquil winery will be well worth your while.

We visited Dog Ridge using a Scoopon voucher. We had a lovely time there tasting several different wines, followed by a platter and a glass of wine of our choice. The voucher included 2 bottles of wine per couple too. Great value and the lady doing the wine tasting was very knowledgeable and friendly.
