About
Today, Settler’s Spirits combines botany and exploration with long established traditions to produce a range of expertly crafted and distinctly blended gins. Lovers of classic styles will be enchanted by ‘Rare Dry Gin’ and the trophy winning ‘Old Tom’. The adventurous at heart will be seduced by the exotic citrus tang of Japanese Yuzo, or the G & Tea Breakfast Gin; infused with Earl Grey tea, native bush honey and a smack of Mediterranean citrus. THE SETTLERS DIFFERENCE A respect and understanding of provenance, aroma and flavour sees each botanical individually hung and steamed to preserve and highlight each distinctive character. This is not a practice that harks back into the history of gin, but a modern twist on technique that produces a distinctly brighter, crisper and more defined palate profile.

No “spirits” just gin so no good for non- gin drinkers. Gin tastes so awful it needs various flavouring to make it taste palatable hence the twelve plus botanical infused versions of gin. Expensive at $80 per bottle and $20 for a tasting. Average.

As part of our tour of McLaren Vale we were fortunate enough to take part of a Gin Masterclass at Settler Spirits. After tasting each of the ingredients, you put together three 20ml styles you like before choosing your favourite for which you make up a 200ml bottle to take home. The end of the experience includes tonic and garnish added to your favourite 20ml gin together with a cheese platter. Definitely a fantastic experience and definitely worth the price.

Come for the Gin and the service

We did a gin making class, It was fantastic to put together your own concoctions. Was very instructive and the guy who runs it was excellent and very helpful. Their own gin is fantastic as is the tonic they have started to produce. Look forward to returning there on our next visit.

We made a booking 2 months before the day we arrived.
on the day we were told there was no record of our booking and could not do the experience.
My mate rang them 2 days before the day to see if it all was good and got told all locked in.
After showing we paid for it on the day and reminded them about phone call two days before they admitted they stuffed it up.
No apologies as they said there computer systems stuffed up dont know what happened. The lady was Extremely rude.
We did not want any feebies however just a sorry would of been nice.
I give them one credit as they gave our money back.
However once in car park another punter after dropping her daughter off told us the same thing happened her 3 times. We suggested to ask for her money but. Not sure if she did.
Do not recommend at all.
Once going somewhere else in McLaren Vale we were told by other vineyard not the first time they have hurd that story.
Extremely Disappointed do not go there if you still do have a back up plan.

We really enjoyed our brief time there before going to dinner. Was a lovely selection of spirits to choose from and the venue is very nice. Will definitely be going back to try more

So glad we decided to stop in for some gin tasting this afternoon. I loved everything about this place from the venue itself, the products and the staff. The staff were super helpful and clearly explained how the tasting experience worked. The only trouble we had was deciding which of the gins were our favorite because there is such a good variety and the accompanying garnishes married perfectly and brought the gin to life. We will be back, looking forward to trying some other spirits and maybe doing a masterclass.

Last minute phone call to see if they could squeeze in one final tasting for the day. The team was so accommodating and I had prime position on the balcony. Knowledgable staff assisted with my tasting and found them really great value for money at $5 per glass (incl generous nip, mixer and garnish). We met the owner and he encouraged us to try his new Shiraz Gin - such a hit! Great atmosphere and walked away with a bottle of their sloe gin. Will book the master class next time.

Awesome range of gins and more. Def something for every taste. Their fig gin is easily the best one I've tried.
