Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hands down one of the best wine experiences myself and my friends have ever had. We were so lucky to stumble upon this amazing place.
From the most beautiful dog to the comfiest chairs and an impromptu cask tasting Geddes showed us the best the McLaren Vale wines had to offer.
Thanks so much guys a truly wholesome experience.
We’ll be back 🍷❤️

We were taken to Geddes on a tour and so very glad we were! The wines are amazing and the service was knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Definitely highly recommend stopping in and wouldn't hesitate to stop by again.

Geddes is a straightforward winery. The first greet you is Neville, the friendly black Labrador! Access is very easy with a few steps. These are estate wines and very well crafted. It was relaxed and the host was very attentive and more than friendly. Facilities and service areas were very clean and inviting. Easy to buy a happy dozen here!

Absolutely incredible little spot and Tim and Amanda were just the loveliest, most generous hosts! Cannot recommend enough! Proper family run business from grape to (delicious) glass. We even got to go round the back and see the wine making in progress! Just go.

I tasted every wine on the table (some more than once!) and i can clearly state that every single one of them was well made and damn right beautiful - even some styles that i have never seen or dont usually enjoy!
If you truely want to sample some of the best wines in the region and dont care for a flashy cube or some other gimmick or big name, then you must visit this cellar door. (In itself, this is a nicely presented cellar door and set amongst the beautiful bushland)
The winemaker Tim took his time to explain the story and process behind each wine and this is clearly someone that knows what they are doing and has a passion for only bottling and selling wines that meet his own personal high standards.
Bottom line: visit the gimmicks and the well known brands if you must do the touristy thing but visit Geddes for a personal experience and to do your take home buying like a smart shopper!
Looking forward to my next visit and the many future vintages of this brand.

We've been drinking Geddes' wines for years but had never been to the cellar door.
We took my brother in law there and it was a fantastic experience. A lovely little venue, good conversation and lots of pats with Neville the failed guide dog.
It's great to see a winemaker staying true to his craft and continuing to make wine the way it should be made.
Keep up the great work guys and never change! :-)

I might regret this post as if Geddes gets too big of a name for themselves they prices will sky rocket ;)
A young guy who knew his stuff from another, much larger winery in McLlaren Vale recommend we visit Tim and Amanda at Geddes, we were so glad we did.
When we first arrived we weren't sure if we were in luck as it seemed they were closed. We gave the number on Google a call and Tim was only a minute away.
Definitely not your typical cellar door. It's the owner/winemaker talking to you about his wine, his passion.
Tim took us straight in and gave us a tour of the facility and we began to try some of the most absolutely delicious wines I've had.
Listening to the explanations around why this was blended with that and why this was was aged for this long in this oak, all whilst trying a wine here and there was magic.
I've never bought as much wine from a single vineyard as I did that day, but I couldn't not as it was that good.
Thanks to you Tim I need a new wine fridge, or a new house with a cellar !
Hope to see you at a feast soon.
Thanks.
Jason

We were lucky enough to visit Geddes during vintage; only then Amanda cooks an amazing lunch for Tim, their winemaking ‘crew’ and two lucky tourists. That was is ;). Apart from the fact that lunch was served right where the wine is being made, it was by far the best meal I had in a week! Apart from the great food ánd superb wines, Tim and Amanda are a lovely couple. Super friendly, more than willing to share their experiences on winemaking and establishing a wine business. Truly a hidden treasure. We bought some very beautiful wines. A shame Geddes is not exported to the Netherlands (yet). Make sure you visit them if you are in McLaren Vale, you won’t be disappointed!

After a long day of wine tasting it was an absolute pleasure to spend our last visit with Amanda and Tim. Their new cellar door with original Adelaide bank doors and fabulous oak barrel feature wall were a treat to the eye. Amanda took us through their modest winery operation and told us she was proud to be operating a business where they only bottle wine that is worth drinking. We were taken on a Shiraz journey around McLaren Vale show casing the extraordinary diversity of soils, locations and altitudes by Tim their master winemaker. The petit verdot which hasn’t been produced for 5 years because the quality wasn’t good enough is an example of their focus on quality. Take the time to visit Geddes Wines you will not be disappointed.

After touring around Mclaren Vale we came across Geddes Winery, Amanda and Tim are full of good ol fashioned hospitality.... they made us feel so welcome and like old friends.
Amanda’s knowledge of the region and wines was impressive and authentic. It was the end of the day and we felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted ( an hour later)
This winery is an absolute gem and should be on your must do list. The cellar is now well stocked and will be back very soon!
