Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was one of the best winery experiences we have ever had. Tim, the actual wine maker, showed us how he made his wine and explained everything in a logical manner. I was fascinated.
Then Tim and us had a lovely chat about the different complexities of his different wines. A couple of locals stopped in, and we were treated as long-lost friends. Our experience could not be better. Only equalled by the wine. It is a pleasure to drink, and we will be looking forward to it improving over the next ten + years.

After a long day of wine tasting it was an absolute pleasure to spend our last visit with Amanda and Tim. Their new cellar door with original Adelaide bank doors and fabulous oak barrel feature wall were a treat to the eye. Amanda took us through their modest winery operation and told us she was proud to be operating a business where they only bottle wine that is worth drinking. We were taken on a Shiraz journey around McLaren Vale show casing the extraordinary diversity of soils, locations and altitudes by Tim their master winemaker. The petit verdot which hasn’t been produced for 5 years because the quality wasn’t good enough is an example of their focus on quality. Take the time to visit Geddes Wines you will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend a visit to the small family owned winery of Geddes Wines. Great selection of Wines, very informative and relaxed. We will be returning for more.

We were lucky enough to visit Geddes during vintage; only then Amanda cooks an amazing lunch for Tim, their winemaking ‘crew’ and two lucky tourists. That was is ;). Apart from the fact that lunch was served right where the wine is being made, it was by far the best meal I had in a week! Apart from the great food ánd superb wines, Tim and Amanda are a lovely couple. Super friendly, more than willing to share their experiences on winemaking and establishing a wine business. Truly a hidden treasure. We bought some very beautiful wines. A shame Geddes is not exported to the Netherlands (yet). Make sure you visit them if you are in McLaren Vale, you won’t be disappointed!

After touring around Mclaren Vale we came across Geddes Winery, Amanda and Tim are full of good ol fashioned hospitality.... they made us feel so welcome and like old friends.
Amanda’s knowledge of the region and wines was impressive and authentic. It was the end of the day and we felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted ( an hour later)

This winery is an absolute gem and should be on your must do list. The cellar is now well stocked and will be back very soon!

What a gem, authentically good wine without pretense. A really delicious range of Shiraz (cellar topped up!) and some great surprises such as the Petit Verdot. If you want to taste good wine, forget about the overpriced underwhelming cellar door down the road and go here.

Great wine, especially several less known wines, such as Graciano (??), lovely venue, and very friendly staff, even an approachable wine maker. I've found that some wine makes don't want to talk to prospective buyers, but the chap here, Tim Geddes is very helpful.

Tim Geddes and his wife Amanda run this small winery specialising in Grenache but do have many others on offer. This is not a high volume vineyard but what’s on offer is well worth the visit if you like to move a little up market. We spent a lovely time with Amanda and her enthusiasm shows though consistently. Well done guys, keep up the good work.

This winery is a husband and wife team with one or two employees who have had an amazing journey for the last five years working at growing their business for a brighter future. Amanda has a lot of knowledge of the industry. Although they don’t grow their own grapes, they purchase the best crops from surrounding wineries and turn them into some of the top wines we’ve had in this area. This cellar door is not your typical tasting place, only those who are interested in a locally owned family business should visit this place and sample their wines made with love and passion. Congratulations Amanda and Tim you are doing a great job. We loved your place. 10/10.
