My husband and I did the 7 night Upper Murraylands cruise and what a wonderful experience we had. This cruise exceeded our expectations from our lovely stateroom and it's extra trimmings to the wonderful staff who went out of their way to make us feel a part of their Princess family to the amazing and too plentiful food we enjoyed to all the off boat experiences we loved. We've waited many years to do this trip and everything about it was well worth the wait. The boat itself is just beautiful and the slow cruise through a beautiful and ever changing part of South Australia is peaceful and ever so relaxing. We are so proud that we have this in our State. We opted to pay a little more for a Stateroom and are very glad that we did and would really recommend it....we had loads more space, a fridge with mini bar, coffee machine and flowers in the room on arrival. The invitation to pre dinner drinks and nibbles with the Captain one night was also a lovely treat. Thanks Murray Princess for an amazing holiday.

Thank you for taking the time to write us this wonderful review. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time on board and that you were well looked after by our lovely crew, they are all fabulous! Staying in a stateroom does provide that extra level of comfort and we hope to welcome you back on our beloved Murray Princess again soon! Kind regards, Sean from Murray Princess

I spent 7 days on this paddle steamer with another 100 or so passengers, initially a 3 day cruise in an inside cabin which I later extended for another 4 days in an outside cabin.

The boat travels by day and is moored overnight, the pace is not rushed and can get a little boring although trivia and bingo is scheduled during the day with several on shore excursions also arranged, some included and some at an additional cost.

There is a dinning room, lounge and bar onboard, dining is at set times with passengers assigned to a specific table for dinner. Food is good and plentiful usually with several courses and two choices.

It’s all inclusive except for drinks which are reasonably priced, drinks are charged to your account which is settled the night prior to departure.

The cabins are quite small even for a solo passenger and I preferred the slightly larger inside cabin although they have no window.

All in all a fun cruise popularly with the older crowd, I’ve booked again for next year.

My wife and I, along with 4 friends, recently experienced The 7 Night Upper Murraylands Cruise aboard The PS Murray Princess and loved it. After a 9 month Covid delay, we finally boarded The Princess on Friday March 12, 2021 and quickly settled in to our larger (disabled) cabin No. 60. The crew were fantastic, from Captain Alina? to the lowly deckhand, always happy and helpful. The food was sensational, morning, noon and night and the entertainment above average. Musician, Alex was an accomplished pianist, although his speech was a little hard to understand. The on shore activities were varied and well organised, without being too taxing. We had great weather for 6 of the 7 days and the best thing of the whole experience was the peace and serenity as the Princess glided along The Murray. All of our fellow travellers were of similar seniority and very well behaved. The only negative that I can think of is missing out on the Bush Tucker breakfast, because when it was announced, there was only one place left, which was immediately snapped up. I can thoroughly recommend this cruise.

My mum and I boarded the Murray Princess on December 23rd 2024 for a 7-night Christmas Cruise.
From the moment we boarded we were treated like family. The staff went above and beyond to assist with everything.
The food was amazing - came off heavier than when we went on.. lol.
A slight mishap at the dock in Mannum when the captain of “The Proud Mary” bumped into the rear of us but after the engineers checking everything out we were good to go.
A few changes to our itinerary but what we saw was amazing. Our visit to Big Bend Woolshed was fantastic and ending with a BBQ dinner plus entertainment from our staff was just brilliant.
If looking for a relaxing cruise then go on the Murray Princess. Such a wonderful experience.

We had a great 4 night cruise on the Murray Princess last week. We especially liked the time we spent at the Sunnydale property checking out the sheep shearing display and going for a spotlighting tour around the property that night. The Murray Princess crew also put on a great BBQ and show as well. The crew were great in all areas of making sure of our comfort, entertain and food requirements.

The 7-Night Murray Princess cruise is way overpriced for the experience. The boat is in need of a thorough refurbishment. The cabins are very small. The washing machines and dryers are old and faulty. Some of the meals are small due to the older age group onboard.
The Murray River itself, was amazing.

3 day cruise was very organised. Not much to do but eat. Food was fantastic and the crew were the best I have seen, but there is not much to do but sit and watch the scenes go by. Relaxing yes, but no radio or TV. Wifi very patchy. There needs to be more to do. Very short walk on the banks one morning early, a fishing competition and a very poor local produce exercise. Meals as I said were great but long times between meals meant by the night you were hungry, very hungry, and the times between each service seemed only to make you hungrier.
Overall it was a good experience but next time I will take snacks and something to do other than read.

Initially on the wrong boat, wrong cabin, booked a balcony with a double bed, on the proud Mary. We got the murray princess, lower level, 2 single beds, smelt terrible. Complained and was told to complain to discovery australia. Looked at the paperwork and they had sent all info to the company with confirmation responses. We did get an upgrade, second floor, 2 single beds again, behind the wheel house, very very noisy, little sleep most nights, intermittent ac, and could hear staff conversations through the vent.
Staff were friendly, but, couldn't serve correctly. At times served food to my partner across my meal, mixed up drinks, first night no serving gloves till mid way, served with a gloved finger on the food etc.
Lack of entertainment, booring as but serene, slow paced. Some staff smelled of bo, or poorly dressed.
No laundry or gym facilities due to a toilet issue a month prior. Other guests had toilet and ac issues form the first day.
Advertised as 4 days 3 nights. Arrived first day around 4 pm boarding, departure was 9 am last day.i wouldn't call it 4 days.

We did the 4 day Murray Princess cruise . The cruise is very relaxing with delicious food and very friendly staff. A great experience. The river is so beautiful. I hadn't expected such gorgeous scenery. The boat was great, just big enough with several lounges. There wasn't any over crowding in any part of the boat. The excursions were good too. The cabins although small were well set out and we didn't have any problems with space. Beds were comfy. Only thing I can recommend is that the coffee shop be opened at 7am for us coffee lovers who love a good cappuccino first thing in the mornings. There was a coffee/tea station available 24 hours a day with biscuits and a big fruit basket which was appreciated. All in all a fabulous experience and I recommend everyone take a trip down the Murray River.

We did the 3 night cruise and booked a stateroom. It was large and a good layout but we were hoping to be able to relax in our room and just watch the lovely scenery. Unfortunately being in the third level our window view was of the top of the trees and sky. Apparently the second level gets the full view.
The food was good and plentiful with the ability to sit where you want for breakfast and lunch but at a set table for dinner. We had a full cruise, 109 people, and it would have been good to move around at dinner to meet more like minded passengers.
We booked the Monarto Safari Park which was great fun and also enjoyed the dragonfly boat. Some of the entertainment was average and the library needs a good update including magazines.
It was very pleasant sitting at the front of the boat with cocktail or coffee to watch the scenery but thought we could have done that in our room as well. My husband was disappointed the paddle steamer was not steam driven.
