A very special day. The weather was beautiful, the river picture perfect and the bird life amazing. Taking a coffee break on the sandbar opposite Booky cliffs was breathtaking and so peaceful.

My better half suggested a kayak or canoe trip, so we explored the options. Canoe Adventures came up in Berri. We are not as young as we used to be so I explored this option carefully. Kym was helpful and friendly. He suggested a time that would fit in with the best weather conditions. On the day he met us at a predetermined site where we launched our kayak armed with excellent instructions. We paddled through areas of Murray wetland, a length of the Murray and another more secluded area. At no time did we feel unsafe. The area was crammed with bird life. Kym arrived at the end to return us to our car. All in all it will not be an adventure easily forgotten. Highly recommended.

Great adventure for all ages, well organised and plenty to see along the way. Kym was great, very knowledgeable about the wildlife and route and lovely cuppa stop too.

My partner and I met Kym at 9am to launch from Gurra Gurra. We spent 3h on the water just floating down with the current. The wetlands were the highlight with their bird life and close tree lined banks. The barges were very interesting to see up close too. Great activity for a half day, highly recommended.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. The bird-life has increased amazingly with the flood, so we're glad you got to enjoy that.

Loved our 5 hr canoe trip down the Murray River and Katarapko Creek. With the flood waters at the moment we kept up a good pace with lots of time for stops and photos. We love canoeing in a flood, weaving our way past flooded gum trees and enjoying the added ease of the flow. Contacted Kym with just one days notice and had a canoe of our choice dropped off at a recommended start point and picked up at the end of the journey with complimentary ride back to our car. Even having the dog with us was happily accommodated. I love Kym’s expertise about the river, tricky bits to watch out for and he has a wealth of advice about places to paddle.

We had the most amazing 3 hours with Kym in the kayaks. We saw lots of different birds. Kym was very informative and friendly. We loved our afternoon tea spot overlooking the majestic cliffs. It’s very peaceful & calm out there on the kayaks. We highly recommend this tour and plan to do it again on our next visit :) Thanks Kym & Karen

Having hired kayaks from Canoe Adventures in Berri, our morning sojourn on the Murray River was the highlight of our time in the Riverland. Supplied with a map, life jacket and safety instructions, we were pushed off by Kym. Gurra Gurra Creek rang with the sound of nesting Whistling Kites, Yellow Rosellas and Reed Warblers, in particular, as we drifted slowly with the current and a gentle tail wind. We had it all to ourselves. Entering the River, the stunning red cliffs and width of the waterway added contrast. Then into the more intimate entrance to the Ajax Achilles Lakes, flanked by lignum, reeds and towered over by cooba wattles, black box and river red gums. Reluctantly, we returned to reality as we re-entered the River near Lock 4 where Kym was waiting, very patiently, to pull us ashore, load the kayaks and deliver us back to our car. Thank you, it was an uplifting morning.

I called day before thinking I would not be able to get a booking at such short notice, but Kym was very accommodating and even gave me some driving directions. Drop off and pick up was very prompt and Kym supplied tips (for a kayaking newbie) and a great route to follow. It was a lovely morning on the river.
