Enjoy an easy 5km walk around the lake! Immerse yourself in nature and then treat yourself with a coffee and lunch at the tea house. Get yourself down to Lake Eacham following a short drive and enjoy another short walk and a refreshing swim in...More

The teahouse offers a very nice setting overlooking this crater lake. The food is good albeit you pay for it. My ham and cheese toastie for instance cost $10. The walk itself is around 5km around the lake. I spotted two snakes and a turtle...More

This is an especially beautiful site to visit and, especially for people of lesser mobility, the boat trip round the lake is an utter delight. The cafe has a beautiful view of the lake and serves perfectly decent looking food. I did not eat there,...More

If you truly appreciate being in the bush, seclusion, and seeing nature at its best, then this is the place for you. The origin of the crater lakes of the area is interesting enough, but for the enlightened nature lover, that is, the one who...More

Another must see when in Cairns or the Atherton Region. Better than Cairns botanic gardens for veiwing the two big butterflies as the gardens are butterfly attracting. Saw 5 Ulysses and two cairns birdwings all together on one tree at the front of the Cafe

This lake is beautiful. The walking track around it is also very interesting. There is a beautiful tea-house with reasonably priced food and drinks for morning tea, lunch and ?dinner.

We were greeted at the car park by feeding Cairns Birdwing and Ulysses Swallowtail butterflies, so beautiful to watch! There were about fifty Great Crested Grebes gathered out on the lake. A female Riflebird was seen feeding in the Pandanus. Musky Rat Kangaroos were seen...More

We did the lake cruise, and found it OK. It's a nice oasis and people new to rainforest and water would appreciate it more than we did.It was OK, but nothing spectacular.
