Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Simply repeating what was written before seems unworthy considering our experience with Nick and his family. My adult son and I were travelling through and stopped by here mostly be accident. A charming community with many friendly folks. Both my son and I have a love for the complexity of opals but neither of us have the budget to consider purchasing significant pieces. Nick was entertaining, educational, and patient. He showed us some wonderful stones and helped us to not only appreciate their beauty but also their origins. We did pick up a few small pieces and actually returned a few days later to visit again. Nick showed us a pair of lovely matched opals and my son and I both agreed that they would make wonderful earrings for my wife. Nick set them as studs and they are truly stunning.
Thank you Nick and for those lucky enough to find themselves in Yungaburra please stop in to see the beauty and magic that Nick has to offer!

If you want something special, and you want input into how it will look, then this is the place to go. We spent 90 minutes with Dave selecting a ring design to suit a sapphire that had been found, cut and faceted by my father. Dave gave us a great education on ring design and manufacture, and helpful advice on what would best suit the stone. No deposit required, no charge for time spent on design, and no charge for the several drafts sent to us on how the ring would look. We collected the ring today and it is amazing - exactly what we were expecting. We had never considered using a custom jeweller before, but this will now be our first choice for any future purchases.

Excellent experienced and knowledgeable jeweller. Unique pieces of jewellery designed and made by Nick the owner. Great knowledge about the Opals fields in Australia. Individually tailored jewellery designed and made to suit each particular Opal. Highly recommend a visit.

Stopped by in August. The owner is knowledgeable and very interesting to chat with. His rocks, gems and jewellary are of superb quality, good taste and design, and craftsmanship. Well worth a visit and can also provide a cup of local grown coffee. Phot is of a polished pice of Hammersely iron ore, very beautiful.

Not a flash modern jewellery store you would find in the big cities but more genuine and personal service; run by experienced gem people who want to inform but not oversell.

We walked in to have a look
And the owner was so friendly and educated us. He has some awesome jewellery and things to buy and it’s made on site. He was quite happy for us to look even though we didn’t buy anything.

I popped into this store this morning on recommendation from our tour leader, the staff/owners were incredibly kind and had a wealth of knowledge to share both about the gemstones and the area in general. The whole opals were absolutely gorgeous and I wish I had of been prepared for such a diamond in the rough store as I would have budgeted more money. Definitely worth a visit if you have any interest in gem stones/jewellery as they offer quality pieces at quite reasonable prices (although there are also some higher range pieces if you are looking for those as well). The store primarily focuses on Pearls, Diamonds and best of all Opals from what I could tell.
They also let me pat their beautiful dogs, so shoutout to the best store ever!!

We wanderef in here to browse, and left over an hour later, leaving my 3 rings behind for cleaning, claw repair and resizing. We also intend to have a small opal we purchased in Lightning Ridge set in a ring of their design shortly. Such a delightful family. Non intimidating (unlike many snooty jewellery shops!), gave lots of great information on their diamonds and opals, were very readonably priced and very honest. They may be 3300km away from home for us, but in future I will contact them for any jewellery I wish to buy, reset, or repair. Brilliant!

We spent about 30 minutes here & the owner (at least a second generation opal-cutter) showed us all about opals...the raw rocks they come from, where the different colors are found, how they're cut & made...then you can of course buy some, varying in price from $35-3000+! He has other Australia genuine stones & pearls as well & he creates his own settings, truly fabulous! You can even get custom made things....definitely learn about them even if you don't plan to buy any, it's very interesting to see where they come from!
