The new center is impressive and it contains the story of the local area as well as the story behind that famous song. There is a cafe out the front and an impressive art gallery attached, don't miss it if you like Australian Art.

We saw the old Centre and this new one is fantastic. There is a lovely eatery attached to the centre. Beautifully presented inside and outside. Worth a visit.

I had not visited the previous centre before the fire, so I don't know how this one compares. Very interesting displays but the audio left something to be desired (didn't work at all to start with). I think the instructions on how to use it...More

The centre is well appointed and a great building with some good exhibits. The “we won’t forget them” tribute for Winton ANZACs was very good. The tribute to Waltzing Matilda was very disappointing. Very lacking and certainly nothing on the previous display. For $30 an...More

This building is amazing and we loved visiting the Waltzing Matilda Centre. I learned things about the poem and it's history that I did not know. They also have a section on the films that have been filmed around Winton. Very interesting. Highly recommend a...More

If you are in the area, you probably will want to visit this center although it really isn't worth the money. What little there is to see is well presented. There is an outdoor café available, but the flies tend to be bothersome. There is...More

If you had never been to the Matilda Centre before the fire, it's well worth a look. However about 80+% of the displays are the same as pre-fire, so if you have been there before, it's not really worth the trip for the small amount...More

Tthis centre has survived a fire and been rebuilt bigger and better. It offer a cafe with fantastic food and a gift shop. All reasonably priced. Great history of the Winton area where aussie icon songs have been composided.

Lots to see here. Take your time going through the exhibits making sure you don't miss all the good stuff outside. Small children may get bored quickly.
